All alone out in the middle of nowhere, lots of people live like that with no contact whatsoever with the outside world. In this case it's possible that he thinks the world is functioning just fine and the zombies (he might have only seen 1-2 at most this entire time he's so deep in the forest) are just crazy hill-billies or something.
Theres a dead dog in his house, which was remarked as smelling particularly bad. The house was boarded up and full of cans. He has to be aware of the apocalypse but extremely demented. I'd assume he's probably just schizophrenic. I can't think it impossible in this world to be a year into an apocalypse for 1 person on the planet to be so delusional they seemingly aren't aware of it.
I think it was pretty dumb lol. No one could survive like that assuming he only became crazy in the last day or so. They should of made the guy some paranoid redneck, not some guy who is oblivious to the whole apocalypse.
What annoyed me was that the hermit was storming outside to get away from the group. Then he gets killed, and they throw him outside anyway. Wtf Michonne.

This nitpicking is getting kind of annoying. Not you personally, but from everyone I guess...
To be fair with Michonne and what happened right there, they still didn't know the backside was safe to escape.

Because if they would have let him open the door on his own, he would have seen the zombies and.. would immediately turn around to flee. And the house would flood with zombies. Not exactly what you want when you're in the house...
Can someone tell Maggie about this thing called lying, I hear its pretty effective and why didnt Michonne tell Rick about Merle or Andrea? Is she this stupid in the comics or is it only a TV show thing?
The writing for season 3 has been really bad so far, Im talking season 2 finale bad.

Telling them about Merle would only provoke Daryl to go stupid. She overheard Merle talking about his brother when he took Glen and the girl. Not mentioning his name was extremely smart. About not mentioning Andrea, well she has her reasons, and many of them would be logical. For one Andrea decided to stay and Michonne didn't want Rick to know that or ask about more details. She is clearly very guarded person and speaks only when she needs to.

You're dumb. You can't do that on television. On NETWORK television. You don't have any kind of argument.
you should be able to see rape on tv when you see other absurd things all the time. stupidity is one of them, it breeds young american intellectuals into bible thumping ghetto foo's
I saw rape on sons of anarchy... in season 3 or something. but i guess its about the network / private network whatever thing in the US.. its pretty shallow in my opinion. In Germany shows get rated by an independent institution.. free to watch for people at 0 - 6 - 12 - 16 - 18 years old or banned. The walking dead is rated 18+ anyway so adding rape wouldnt make any difference. The sons of anarchy is rated 16, although there is rape, but less bloody.
So by those standards it wouldnt make any sense to hold back on anything, but the US standards are just shallow so that you cant show rape or a loris dead body, but you can show guts and blood in infite amounts... Isnt there any protection against that? because in Germany this kinds of shows must only be availabe from 11pm - 6am, so kids dont watch. (not a perfect mean to achieve that but whatever^^)
I just dont see a clear line of what you can do and what you cant.

That would be pretty stupid. She has no idea rick even know where they are. For all she knows they could be there awhile. What happens to Glenn when the Governor/Merle go out only to find that she was lying. I don't think she is stupid, however you might be shortsighted.
I wouldn't have lied if my gf had a gun to her head either.

That guy doesn't know what he's talking about anyway. AMC showed rape in Mad Men several years ago.
Relax guys, the Governor might still rape someone. If the writers had wanted Maggie to be raped, they would have implied it and cut away. As others have pointed out, AMC shows have depicted rape in the past. We don't know why they didn't go down that road here.
No, several people are either still alive, not in the comics all together, or comic characters arn't in the show at all. It's a wierd collage of all three, no one really knows whats gonna happen.

And the baby is black, dun dun dun.
ROFLROFLROFL
in all seriousness i would be interested in seeing what happens to glen .. but, I love glen and I would stop watching if he shot himself.. so.. to risky

They don't jeed to SHOW it on national television, just imply it happened. You already know the governor is fucking twisted with killing people off, keeping his undead daughter in his room, and having zombie heads in tanks in his living room. It's not like you're going "oh that governor dude seems like such a nice guy, he'd never do something evil....like rape maggie!"
Too long is the tv series holding stuff back. Just take the leap forward and do it. Make it dark as shit. That's what TWD really is: a very dark human drama which is meant to question your morals. The whole ZA is merely a plot device to bring everything out. When things go to shit, how would a person act? It's meant to get you thinking of what you would do and question yourself. That's what TWD is about, not Lori pmsing for an entire year and then "omg carl shot his bitchy mother! Traumatized for life!" This isn't and shouldn't be As the World Turns.
agreed. the vicious man eating zombie parasite that plagues the earth isn't enough.
I'm interested in finding out what happens to merle when the governor finds out he lied about michonne being dead.. And how daryl potentially plays into that OOOh

I could see it playing out with Merle turning on the Governor and joining the group, which Rick will allow because he feels guilty about leaving him on the roof. Of course, it'll end up a huge point of contention in later seasons, and conflict is a good thing.
Maybe it's not them holding it back, but they're showing that the Governor isn't as fucking sick and twisted as you all want him to be? Shit has to get pretty fucking bad before you rape someone, and from what we've seen, the Governor is pretty twisted, but maybe he's still human, and the writers are trying to show that he's a different person than from the comics and hasn't broken down into animals yet? Not raping her was much more suspenseful imo. You could hear yourself sigh when he walked away.

Hmmm, I thought it was very clear that she wasn't raped. She is brought into Glenn's room in exactly the same state as when the Governor abruptly left the room after looking like he was going to rape her but then stopping. Perhaps it looks that way to Glenn, but in actuality I think we the viewers know she was not.
