For some reason they apparently thought it wise to hire writers from CSI, smallville, vampire diaries or whatthefuckever to write this one.

Two people have their pistols pointed at Merle. They let him walk up to them with the normal retarded cheesy "stop or i'll shoot you x5"-schtick used by half assed writers/directors. They don't shoot Merle, they don't back off and keep their distance while splitting up.

NOOO, they stay bunched together 2 meters from Merle, while issuing their fifth warning of "stop or we'll shoot you". What happens next? Merle draws his gun. The two idiots proceed to un-aim their already aimed pistols while performing an retardedly evasive ducking manouver, rather than just... you know fire their already aimed pistols.

The fact that both of them pussy out rather than fire is just...............................................

Hey Glenn I heard you love your girlfriend. You only said you'd protect her no matter what a hundred times this season. But by all means, DUCK AND RUN FOR YOUR LIFE when someone pulls a weapon on your girlfriend, while you were already aiming at said person.

Episodic television writing at its worst. How fucking hard would it be to direct a plausible scenario instead.

This episode returned the series to season 2 quality (shit quality).

Worst part is how easy it would have been to make it plausible. Just have glen wait outside while maggie goes inside. Merle walks up to glen and tries to be buddy buddy, glen refuses and pulls gun, Merle gets close, Maggie walks outside, distracts glen, merle pulls gun.

Bam, maggie is carrying supplies and is completely defenseless, and glen has a gun pulled on him while he's not looking. Merle gains upper hand, and it doesn't seem retarded.

 And god damn Andrea.

That was my take on it.
He's a manipulative bastard, he probably gave her a fake name just to get her to stay. He obviously doesn't want them to leave because he's worried they'll tell people about Woodbury and it could cause problems, so if they do leave, he has to kill them. He probably just wants them around because he wants something out of them, but I think if they make a serious motion to leave, he'll have Merle take them out.
Hahahahaah, I was a 100%! They got the vibes for each other. Well, Andrea seems to have them for ANY guy in the show. MAYBE except for Merle, lol.

I hate andrea with a passion though. "I want to be a continue being a good shot and be helpful" -> immediately disregard wall protocol, jump over wall and stabby stabby. That's the andrea I know and

no matter how contrived, I guess that glenn/maggie/merle meeting does bring up the inevitable meeting of the general party with woodbury, so I'm looking forward to that.
Man of all the reasons to dislike TV Andrea that is the farthest down on my list. Screw Woodbury wall protocol, it was only one walker, and it has been far too long since we've seen Andrea kicking any kind of ass. Also that female Daryl wannabe was really damn annoying. Side point: Who tucks their ears in under a ball cap? That whole character sucked, but that oddly was the thing that annoyed me most.

I have to agree with the general opinion here, that the showdown at the corner store or whatever you want to call it was very poorly written. Pretty pivotal scene as far as putting the two groups on a collision course, but the execution was just poor to say the least. It wasn't a scene where there is some huge emotional payoff, rather it was plot driven, so in the grand scheme of the season it won't affect much, but it was still bad.

Aside from the specific timing of when it happened, yeah it was pretty much exactly the same. Was more effective due to better timing in the comics though.

By now everyone probably hates Andrea. I think the writers will try to "save" her character by help saving Glenn and Maggie when she finds out they're there.

I don't get the hate. It's the middle of a Zombie Apocalypse and she's found a place of normality. Why would you blame her to act a bit "Ignorance is Bliss".

Hahaha this was the only thing I could focus on during the wall scene.

The phone scenes were really creepy tho. If the lady voice was Lori, who was the male voice? Just someone he knew before the apocalypse?

I have to watch it again, but it was either Dale or T-dog, the first female voice was Amy i believe (It was mentioned by the last voice who was probably Lori cause she kept saying baby or honey or some pet name). Don't think it was Shane, but I didn't really listen.

The thing I noticed during the male talking was his accent, that put me off and made it all creepier. I don't remember anyone in the group having such an accent. Maybe I just didn't listen careful enough to notice?
But if the voices and names on the phone was all dead members from the group and the better place they talked about where they are safe and away from walkers would actually be heaven/some kind of void or whatever your soul goes to in this fiction world, well that just made it alot more creepier to me. Inb4 Rick goes craaaaazy.

Or maybe I'm just over analyzing the whole thing, which is something I'm good at doing. :D But it would been an interesting plot.

While we're at overanalyzing stuff.. doesn't the whole phone thing mean that Rick basically admitted that he wants to die?

This episode was awful and poorly written but I like the general direction of the show. Forest ninja Michonne starts to annoy me. I completely don't understand the phone thing. Everything else was passable. On the bright side they don't have to spend 5 episodes on looking for Carol.

Speaking of plot holes, I'm surprised no one brought up Carol. When she was last seen she was running through a door presumably leading outside. Now she's back inside the prison locked in a closet, kicking the door for some reason.

aside from the reason said before me, also they seem to have a policy of killing anyone who doesn't join (either because they don't want the person to join or because the person doesn't want to)

Been a long while since something really interesting happened imho. Finally some cool community vs. community action, now i just hope for less zombie splat. Seeing little knives cut thru skulls like was i butter get old real fast. Also i think the gore is over the top in this series. Its not because i find it gross, it is just that i think it detracts from the plausibility (reality?) of the series. I do realize that it is a zombie splat series. This episode felt good for me.
