Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |

I can think of other great AMC shows, like Breaking Bad, that have lots of action and violence in some episodes, while other episodes are purely built on drama and dialogue. The difference is that show's drama is well-written, well-acted, humorous (I don't think the Walking Dead has ever given me a serious laugh, unless it's at the child acting), and despite not being set in an apocalypse, is somehow still more enticing.
Seeing Dale die kind of made me realize that the acting is one of this show's downfalls -- although sometimes you could probably blame the script for providing them with flat, unbelievable, and inconsistent characters. Dale was a good actor and one of the more consistent and believable characters. Now he's dead. The other really good actor on this show is Shane (whom I love to hate -- probably the best part of this show, which actually still draws me to watch it, is hating Shane and hoping he dies). And he's probably going to die soon as well, the way things are going. That won't leave me with much reason to watch anymore.
TL;DR, they need to go back to the suspense of Season 1, because they don't have the chops to just be a drama. At least not on par with AMC's other dramas, like Mad Men and Breaking Bad, which are actually really good dramas. Pretty much how I feel, it's not the situation that sucks (the farm) it's the writing. Mad Men is all drama, and that show is unbelievably amazing.

I love how I always come to this thread after an episode looking at all the "omfg so bad" / "howz dat even possibru!?" / "makes no sense"-posts. I think the second part of season 2 had some great moments and I still like watching the show.
For a second there I thought Dale would turn and injure someone leaving another character to slowly turn.

This has been brought up already. It's been buried in the thread and should remain so.

Damn. Dale died D: I liked him on that show, he gave some pretty good scenes. Also, do you think Andrea caved in an agreed with Dale cus she thought he really was right, or because of pity? XD
Rick drops the gun twice? I can understand the first time, I mean, his kid followed him to see him execute someone, and urged him to proceed even though he was there (and also, I like to hate that kid as much as Lori and Shane now >_>)
I want to see more T-dog and Randyl >:O

I want to see more T-dog and Randyl >:O The subtlety of the second one is that Dale has been fighting tooth and nail to stop a summary execution of the boy, and what does Rick have to do? The irony was not lost on him, and why he couldn't shoot him.

I want to see more T-dog and Randyl >:O T-dog has become the epitome of the token black dude. It's a shame because there was an important black character in the comics (not T-dog), but I think because of Shane they didn't want to add in 3 strong male leads to complicate things.

Also Carl needs to be killed off.
YES. This show is laughably bad.

Kill Carl already. They killed Dale off, that's good. Now they better kill Hershel's boy ( no line yet in the show? ), Lori and Sophia's mother. Loving all the comments on TL about this show, lol @ T-Dog's supposed baby :D
P.S: I still enjoy this show, but Carl's lines are making me cringe so I fast forward over them unfortunately. Didn't even bother watching how he missed the shot from point blank range on that zombie >.>

All I have to say is that zombie was very smart... He was able to follow Carl back to the farm, leave a dying cow as bait, and was able to sneak up behind Dale O_O

Maybe Romanian kids are ruthless killers from a young age, but in most other places that is not the case.

I have read the comics, and while I agree those are much better than the TV show, I still find TWD to be miles ahead of 90% of things on TV right now.
|
it would have been better if we just heard like a whistling coming from above and then the zombie just fell out of the sky right ontop of dale
and also when rick asks that woman (lori?) for her opinion on the boy, she should stand there in silence for a while then suddenly an alien explodes out of her head
i only watched the last 2 eps, and caught myself raging in this one already, but reminded myself im just watching it for the luls of this thread

I like to think that at the end where Daryl takes the gun from Rick. I think that was him showing that he DOES care and he wanted to show Dale that he did. When Dale and Daryl talked about the boy and some stuff about the group he flat out said that he doesn't care. Then after the meeting when Dale leaves he stops and says to Dale "Your right this group is broken." I think that kind of triggered something in Daryl, at least for Dale, for the time being. After Daryl takes the gun, Dale sees this and raises his head up it his forehead touches the barrel. It was Dale giving Daryl permission. It was like Dale wanted Daryl to do it, not anyone else.
Thats just me though. I could be wrong.

Wtf that kid is always doing stupid shit lol xD Truly his mother's son.

The Season Finale will be the farm being overrun by walkers. Just my prediction.
Also the group is getting low on ammo (andrea reference)
Dale/Tdog don't do shit in this show. Dale while a good actor played him was really insignificant to the show (comic another story). Tdog won't get axed becaus they never gave him a role, so it wouldn't mean much. So I expect to see more Tdog now.

On March 06 2012 04:42 Gentso wrote: Here's some ideas for the writers to make the show interesting again:
1) Have a walker make its way inside the farm with a bomb attached to itself and blow it up so that everyone is forced into entertaining survival mode again.
2) Start the next season off with the birth of the child and have it be black. That way T-Dog gets more lines in the show.
3) Zombie animals. Humans are too easy to survive against. Monkeys and raging buffalo not so much.
Option 3 seems good, option 2 made me laugh for 5 long minutes. Or they could turn this as some kind of evolution of the virus, or i dont know, but make them run, a group of 15 people armed far away from everything, of course this is going to get boring. They have to hit the road again, for lack of food, or farm gets over run, something, but it cant stay like that, and if it does, invest 50% of the budget into Carl's acting school, because this kid sucks, and make T Dog speak for fuck sake
