I mean... this manga is as shounen as you can get. What exactly from that list did you not expect?
I mean.. Yes Juvia surviving was predictable but that wendy would do it, mind you, so far every single time when healing was needed she said either "I am out of mana" or "this is too hard even for me".
Ice dude revealing END's identity was shounen'y but there was no guarantee that it would happen and that it would happen in this exact episode.
Same thing about Brandish.
Reddit did well that they predicted that all of these things would happen in this exact episode.
I'm very surprised.

I think people need to stop acting surprise when a character is potentially dying because they won't. Until the final chapter of the manga is out to confirmed that they are truly not coming back, they are not dead. I am glad that she not dead either but at this point, it about time everyone realize that nobody ever dies in Fairy Tail and every villain that get defeated will some how turn good and help them later.
If she had died, I think it would of fitted her character pretty well. Too bad author couldn't do it.
What annoys me is that since the death of juvia was obviously a lie from the start, the entire situation felt over dramatic since we all knew she wasn't going to die no matter how much she keep saying she going to die. I was more interested in finding out what END is.

It made sense that Juvia wouldn't die. It's not like Fairy Tail is dark enough to let her die. It wouldn't have done much either.

I mean if she really wanted to she could turn around and wipe out 3/4 of Fairy Tail in an instant (which is further reinforced this issue) after throwing Natsu+Happy+Lucy far away. She doesn't even mention the whole brainwashing thing as being a problem, just "our countries are on different sides." She's never taken killing or disabling FT seriously, even after one of their own brainwashed her.
Then again she has Magneto syndrome where she could kill people instantly if she really wanted to so the author either has to ignore that or just skirt around it. I'm just annoyed the brainwashing thing had 0 ramifications on the story, she could have just failed to convince August or have him convince her and it would play out identically.

I agree with the last part. Was a totally unneeded aspect of the story. I guess he felt he needed an excuse for brandish to get mad at FT? She was copying up to them pretty well before that.
I remember this chick who just (fake) killed brandish. Who did she fight again? Wasn't she the one who became like a God or something.

Anyways fairy tail is fairy tail. It has never made sense. It has no real continuity. All the characters are nothing but shallow cardboard pop ups or boobs.
