VP's drafts were questionable throughout the entire event even though their players were on point.

the throw was not having buybacks but to be fair the trend nowadays seems to be "buy out during midgame especially if you're ahead"

also, worth pointing out that lgd actually made the call to directly throne it. if they tried to go for rax it wasn't gg and vp was in a better position still. so many situations in games where teams could throne it but they get cold feet

I don't think you can drow (:o) any conclusion from this game, except not having buyback is a bad skill toi have.

I think its kinda embarrassing that casters/panelists/hosts still say "you guys", lets take Dota 2 out of the boys room

Well VP train kept going, but they were slowly and surely losing their timing. I think it was a poor draft by VP, and only reason it looked so good was cuz of lgd feeds.

I think it was a fine draft that looked worse than it should've been because VP miscalculated how the lanes would go. They wanted to go even at the beginning and force tower trades before Storm got to his 4th-5th item. If anything, Pasha was underwhelming in his control of the side lanes.

LGD didn't even have an easy initiation that game and VP had 5 ways to do it

That was so bad to play as drow lineup and a storm

also i think a big reason for vp losing that fight was drow's high ground positioning and necro and VS tanking shit to protect her

I prefer a relaxed atmosphere than the overly serious ones we get when watching sportsl, those are just games in the end.

VP draft is honestly not that good. LGD could still win in late game on even networth through split pushing and solo kill potential by storm.

The real question is LGD going to tilt in game 2 because of game 1

Come on casters, no team is "hiding stuff". They pick what they think is the best lineup against what their opponent is picking. No one thinks "wow this hero would be perfect now, but I won't pick it, I'll keep it hidden in case in the main event the same perfect situation arise §"

I wholeheartedly agree. Some proactive strategies might be 'hidden', like first picking drow thou.

I rewatched that fight

I think even if 9pasha gets the black hole, fy was in range to get an instant swap, and the fight probably winds up going similarly

The main issue was lack of buybacks I guess

lgd is so bad though guys

They lost every fight and were very uncoordinated through the whole game, then they suddenly won a fight because of missed Black Hole and just went mid. So what's exactly your point?

they definitely played overconfident at the start, but they adapted on the fly, itemized perfectly, and outplayed VP to win with a lineup that plays like shit from behind. not the greatest game in the world but being able to find the win despite mistakes is the mark of champions.

Yep yep yep

Hiding strats is not real. This is real life not. Tropes that work on fiction doesn't necessarily mean it happens IRL

Now I´m curious to see VP´s reaction to this frustrating loss. Mental fortitude was always the one area I did not rate them at the absolute top (in stark contrast to Liquid, who can bounce back from pretty much everything).

That team becomes a monster when they find their groove but so far they never really did at this TI and look highly mortal.

Pasha shouldn't have attempted to Black Hole at that point anyway. He has to preserve the threat of it to force Maybe to hover on the fringes of the fight.

Shiva's might've been preferable over Sheep in that scenario for Ramzes too.
