I don't think so. Chinese dota 2 scene is very competitive at the moment with an influx of new talent given a chance to play for top teams. DPL going on is good practice for Kiev as well.

Alch rework. I think the concept of Alch is really just so different from most Dota heroes. If ever, his ulti might be drastically changed yet again. I like his other skills though. It's really either ulti change or passive change. Passive kinda makes the concept of Alchemist though, so I think ulti regen will be lowered or cooldown increase will be dramatic. Also maybe a 5-10 minute cooldown on gifting items.
Agreed. AT the very least he should be removed from CM. So sick of that hero

I don't think China will do as well in Kiev, but it's not for any usual Azarkon reasons.
The tournament was structured so 50% of the teams were from China. So the Chinese teams knew about half of their opponents very well from DPL etc.

But they still kinda crushed the non-Chinese teams (except for OG).
I think China will do well. Not as well as getting 3 teams in top 4, but maybe 3 teams in top 6. IG and Newbee are definitely tier 1, with IG on top, but IGV and VGJ are decent as well, and to be honest VG main (with END and Ori) are tearing up Chinese leagues as well, taking the most games off IG.

Saying they crushed them is trying to create a hyperbole. IG were very strong, and Newbee a bit less so, and they also won their group, just like OG and Empire won theirs with 3 chinese teams in it. Empire lost to Newbee and VG.Vit 2-1. VG.J, TL, and EG were a disappointment, and Wings and LFY never hit any stride. There were no crushing defeats until the GF.

nooo OG , the Riki pick caught them off guard... well, grats to Burning anyway, coming back on top after all this time must be great for him
|
Great showing from Burning , as with everyone else on this thread im for the "kill alch" brigade , that hero is just the bane of fun dota , you shut him down in lane , he farms , you shut him down in the mid game ? he is still 5k ahead , you didnt shut him down in lane or mid game ? he is 20k to your carry 10k , and then late game comes and he farms like a rocket pumping gold to the team , hero is boring and disugsting to watch , 50min games all the time unless he snowballed himself and then its 30 min raxes for the Alch team , hate the hero , hate the concept as well , borrrrring to watch and cheesy as f****k

There should be a brawling Alch comeback, like the TI3 era Alch.

Wings was never even remotely close to being a favorite, more like a total hit or miss team that caught fire in the middle of the tournament. They were considered one of the better teams coming out of China at the time (top 3 depending on whether they could stop trolling themselves on the pick screen), however the West teams at the time like EG and OG were waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more favored.
iG played well this tournament, but we'll see how they do when they no longer can just surprise people with their picks and people have had time to prepare for them. It's nice to see that Burning no longer has to be a dominant core anymore where he has to farm big time and put his team on his backpack like back in the old days.

Huh. Wings won two stacked tournaments prior to TI6 in dominant fashion and with out-of-meta picks. Sure they kinda flunked the major before it, but they were definitely one of the favorites.
