Meanwhile Universe playing like shit. Worst thing I've read all day

I really dislike heart armlet this patch. I think it is too strong. Did you even see him in the first game... Also giving first blood in this game... sigh... Yes but i don't get set on a few mistakes.
He gave us like 2 4 man chronos, 3 3 man ones. etc.
It was pretty insane.

Well, still a chance for EG vs Secret on Saturday. (EG doesn't play again until Saturday, with the split up lower bracket.)
Though I'd expect EG vs Newbee, if we're being honest.

I don't think Bulba was bad this game. Universe could not have save this game, especially not the way he has been playing in Secret.

Provided Secret goes through tomorrow's games without a problem, they should be able to win Newbee now that OG has shown how to play against them.

I never said universe wasn't the best. People use dumb rankings on websites like this and don't watch games, though, and people don't understand that every single offlaner in the game has bad ults or initiations. It's an impossible job to play perfectly. Bulba has done extremely well in EG, and when people point to the few mistakes he's had in games and resort to "NOT UNIVERSE!" it's just a really dumb argument. Universe has both done a ton of shit ults and initiations AND is the best offlaner. By your logic any tier 2/3 offlaner = Universe. Lol. Please stop rationalising. Bulba while a good player always had this ability to drag down his team overall without looking bad himself by some clutch plays or watevs (Viz. previous iteration of Team Liquid). Its the stability and consistency that moves you from Tier2/3 to Tier 1. And only amazing gamechanging plays and flowreversing gamesmanship take you from Tier 1 to the 'best offlaner in the world' status. So stop trivialising the difference between Sam and Saahil. Universe earned that title and you dont get to sully it by cheap fanboi reactionism. Peace.

Bulba played well in both games, especially the second. Aui was their weak link and apparently storm is still terrible even in a perfect game scenario

I missed all of it but glad that Liquid is asserting strength. Sorry for Fear and Bulba.

I dont agree with people calling it throws. EG came back through amazing Chronos by Bulba and Legion+Storm doing suprisingly high amounts of damage. In the end the DK became too tanky to take down in a single Chronosphere which combined with EG lacking physical dmg spelled their doom. Just my 2 cents

Aui isn't as efficient of a farmer as Arteezy, but he's also not playing a Hard 1 position unless he's on something like Sven. The types of ganks done to him are the same things that actually happened to Arteezy.
Weirdly, both seem to have the over extension problem but it shows up in different ways. If I had to put it a way, I think Arteezy will under-think situations and charge in & Aui over-thinks and over-positions himself. (The Blink into the last .5 of the Chrono would have been sweet, if the rest of Liquid wasn't right behind where he couldn't see.)
It's also important to understand that EG has adopted much more of the TI5 era relationship that Sumail & Fear had. People forget that Fear was "King of the Ancients" during TI5, having the highest gold % from Ancients of anyone in the tournament. EG also would switch farm in the middle of the game, depending on who's needs what & who had the better start. So the roles are a little different.
Though credit to Kuroky & Heen and their preparation. AA really countered so much of what EG wanted to do in the early game.

Universe was only good because the team around him was good, just like every other player.
People overestimate individual skill way too much. If you trust your team and you have confidence, you're going to play 50% better. If you don't trust your team, don't agree with drafts, people go whiny or silent during the game, and you have no self-confidence so you hesitate when initiating or following up, you're going to play worse.

Once eg lost all their outer towers they were one bad team fight away from losing the game. Thats a pretty tough situation to be in but thats what you get playing against np and lycan. EG did well to keep it together but their mistakes were always going to get punished much harder in that situation

OG didn't show anyone anything. They just played their own game at which they are by far the best in the world, and evem then they barely beat newbee in a very close series. To think that this secret team could play OGs strategy anywhere close to that level is delusional. Newbee isn't a one trick pony that you destroy once you figured out their style, they are a legitimately strong team.

Just my 2 cents EG did well with their opportunities, but it was TL that needlessly handed them those. TL got cocky, and you might not blame them too hard, all things considered. They wanted to humiliate EG, and almost succeeded in that.

I genuinely feel that people consistently read too much into too little. This constant talk about which team is t1/2/3.... Whatever, it changes from week to week and it's all because we don't see them play enough games to really know.

Rewatching the vod, that 7k gold swing after EG killed everyone but pos1 of liquid...
