I don't fully agree with the discussion of carry vs other sorts of mids you made. Basically all of the old Secret's best results came when w33 played farm intensive heroes. At Shanghai it was Invoker, OD, some WR, at Frankfurt and before it was WR, SF, Meepo, some Lina and Invoker too. Secret was never really that successful with actual tempo controlling mids. I also wouldn't put everything on Arteezy, as Puppey is sort of the one who is supposed to be the captain of the team, and he is often involved in the team's movements. But a lot of the smokes and whatnot are just not working out at all.
But I do agree with w33 being generally very good lategame, and his style at that phase of the game generally fit that lineup very well.

It is a universal problem that 4 out of 5 shines through being farmed, and that doesn't cater to the aggression that is the forté of several patches. It will work in the same cases it did for EG, "Greed works, when it works, and not punished". As you point out, there is a style issue too, that doesn't synergize, or give them unpredicatability or flexibility. It terms of tactics, it feels as though as the way to make it work, is to change pretty much everyone, to fit a profitable playstyle.
It sometimes worked in the last roster, because Misery is more flexible than Universe is, and W33 was more of a playmaker than RTZ, but it wasn't without it's problem, that PPY/PLD were torn whether to babysit EEs farming style, or helping their playmaker in his timings.
Universe's timings doesn't work with EEs and RTZs much later ones.

That was in response to two guys saying I shoulden't question it just laugh with them. Which I think is a bit of a sad mentalithy which I blame on twitch chat. If that's a big deal for you I won't judge, I don't see why it is though.
