It makes me so happy that a team that refuses to play games get rekt when they finally have to play a real match.
Hope they realise you can't just scrim, you have to actually play something that matters to get better as a team. what do you mean by playing something that matters? most players were playing strictly scrims recently, if you take a look at dota profiles. (how there aren't any games recorded) i've also been paying attention to dotatv and very few players on pro-teams were playing more than a handful of pubs a day. what it seems like is that pubs are warmup or wind-down for them.
Not really, only some of the tier 1 teams were playing exclusively scrims. Empire for example is in the dreamleague qualifiers, fnatic play every qualifier in SEA, ehome play every qualifier in China, etc. Secret is declining lots of tournaments: starladder, dreamleague, dotapit, and some others that are still going to happen.
Empire just couldn't qualify over Navi, No Diggty and VP but was able to beat secret 2-0. I really think this trend of teams declining all the invites need to stop, and I'm really happy when some of them get rekt by a team that is playing hard a qualifier for weeks.
First teams started to complain about online qualifiers. Now they are declining LAN events. Soon they will play exclusively on the majors and that's it

I followed every tournament since the beginning of dota2 but everything changed when valve attacked with their majors =| It got so boring with everyone getting invited to tournaments. There might be going on dota now but it's boring dota. Just go back to pre Majors. There used to be 1-2 invites for a tournament - the qualifiers were stacked. Now its 4-6 with many teams not even considering taking an invite. I watched about 7000-9000 pro dota 2 games

EHOME lost to champions. Secret lost to Russians. Tomorrow they decide once and for all who should ready his ass for a disband after the major.

with TL winning it would be TL v Secret first round. But they would have to beat ehome first

I was really scared that the same thing would happen with CSGO, but I guess it's safe for now because the majors prize pool is a million and there are already tournaments with 750k prize pool. CS have been so much better to watch, almost every day there is a match between 2 top 5 teams. I kinda wish secret and EG lose every LAN they attend so they start playing more. OG is playing very few games as well, but they have been invited to all the tournaments so it's hard to say they would decline playing an online qualifier.

This ursa pick is kinda questionable.

If you look at the majors for example, Secret struggled a lot against Newbee Young at Frankfurt on day 1 (a team that ended up being last place) and got smashed by MVP at Shanghai. One series alone shows very little about the strength or weakness of a team.

They looked awkward in there team fighting and very off.

Im not sure who is ahead, Invoker is super farmed, but ursa its pretty much worthless, while Empire has 3 cores decently farmed

I feel that every game is more or less a fresh start at the moment with lots of game-specific momentum needed rather than previous performance. Especially for supposedly top tier teams like secret, mvp and to some extend eg (they just like secret havent played official games in a while). Could also just be my impression though.
