Actually this may not be as bad as it seems

Remember pre-ti5 China was so terrible then when TI5 happened it would've been TI4 repeat with Chinese dominance if it wasn't for EG

These tournaments are the equivalent of international. And as invite is decided by it, the Chinese won't have over two teams in the international.

And the biggest problem, of course, has always been the management. They failed, for years, to build a competitive environment that motivates players to compete, and now that Dota is no longer the top game in China, they just can't find enough players with motivation to compete for them. I said this, of course, about four years ago, but the lack of new talent in China always showed an issue with the scene in terms of how competitive its environment was.

These players who've been here for years and years, they're tired and they no longer care. It is obvious. Yet the players who do care, lack the experience & skill to compete at the international level due to the failure of the old players to transfer their understanding, and so in time, they also lose hope and then stop trying. Seen it again and again, China's player base is too old and too tired now to give a fuck, and so they'll keep failing to teams from other regions that do still care.
They had 2-5th place at TI5(had 2 teams in finals at TI4). 2nd place at Nanyang. 3rd at SL. 1st at MDL.

I guess I can take a second off being salty over how shit VG is to appreciate the fact that SEA is making a showing for some reason.

Their results in big tournaments, such as this one, have been getting worse over time.

It has always been back and forth. West is just growing more, as it is more dynamic, and have way more teams.

CDEC and eHome are proofs of younger teams.

This game looks more like 3-19 instead of 13-9.

I don't get how casters still get so hyped by the networth of a snowballing TA, the last time I was truely impressed by a TA leading networth was this one game of sumail when he got like 12 CS the first 5 minutes on the game and died 4 times before eventually catching back.

the batrider pick was an inevitability, but I hadn't thought the vs would be able to get that

This tournament has not been competitive. It's been China being shit on.
