Is this certain?
What did James say exactly that was soo offensive?
After the crap CS:GO personalities pulled is this that much worse?

the question is what happend behind the scenes. maybe perfect world approached valve that they are unhappy that 2gd is making their event entertaining and then valve fired 2gd because they wanted to keep the relations with pw on good terms. if it was a decision made by valve without perfect world being involved, then yeah. fuck valve. maybe learn how to run a fucking tournament series.

I think he got fired because he refused to take a break when the production team told him to.

Swindle tweeted about it being fucked that James was fired so don't think he cared about joking around on the panel.

I should point out CS:GO personalities basically do the same thing 2GD does except they study the scene before an event.

I hate to throw a whole country under the bus, but time after time they've proven us wrong on how bad they can get. We hoped a valve major would help. If valve can't help, that's the final straw for me. Heck host it in Korea (with a new provider and not Nexon) so it gets more exposure; at least Korea has the infrastructure and pedigree to ensure a top quality event.
And James is just the nail in the coffin. Can we petition making like a change.org thing so that Valve knows how disgusting this whole ordeal is (the tournament not only James). I am biased but I am also born in Taiwan, so I have a reason to hate China as a whole. I have said this several times that China, as a country, is extremely backwards. Their government is extremely against anything Western or forward thinking in general. I know for certain that not all of their citizens feel the same as their government, however as China's government talks the loudest, it doesn't matter. I don't know what the hell happened with James but I won't be surprised if they dropped him mid event because they found him to be weird or too relaxed or offensive. I have despised China heavily since my teens and that won't ever change, even though I have friends that were born in China. They aren't blind to the fact that Chinese government are just a bunch of bullies nothing more. Valve should not, EVER host ANYTHING in China, period. Aside from all of the issues I have with China in general, the air quality there is beyond bad. Valve said they are overlooking these events, so why the fuck is this even happening when they "fired" James mid event? What kind of bull are they pulling?
I'm not arguing with anything you said about China, but they do have about two zillion people and make up a huge chunk of Dota's market. Valve is not giving up on China, even though China looks like they are trying their best to give up on themselves.

This is interesting..but left me in wonder, they way ehome and VG are playing, are they seriously even trying to win anything here?

It's possible Valve pulled the trigger, but someone at Perfect World was making a huge fuss. Maybe they pulled him before it escalated to a diplomatic incident?

no chinese team has even practiced dota cuz of the holidays, and the general "i don't give a fuck" attitude
i would seriously not be suprised at all when archon manages to somehow get top 2 in groups over LGD and newbee

They pulled in James because of who he is.
After he said he was done doing this, he goes all the way here to be himself and they let him go mid event for what?
Thorin and R Lewis is far worse when it comes to random jokes. I'm having a very hard time understanding this line of thinking. Unless something has happened we don't know of.
This Major has been delayed by hours every day so far. As a Major?

I should also point out Dreamhack was going to pull Richard Lewis out of the hosting job, but the entire casting panel was going to revolt if they did.

This should be the crux, though a stern warning should suffice (unless it's not the first time has done so).
It should have nothing to do with his style of hosting.

They're playing seriously, but they haven't prepared seriously. Their drafts are a mess. They seem to know almost nothing that's very good, making basic mistakes. At the moment, if VG had gotten to face off against Alliance, I don't think they'd have banned any combination of: Wisp, Prophet, Chen or Batrider. Basic drafting/strategy preparation seems to be completely missing.
