But now, once i've made peace with it, I want the delay to be long enough so the analyst desk starting to analyze really absurd things. "you should get that mole checked out, it seems irregular" "So, how's your relationship with your father?" "You know, once I ate my own shit. It tasted like pepper"

They also had a players summit at Valve HQ where they kind of established a baseline for acceptable standards....which went out the window in China. But I also feel like you're seeing less shitty run tourneys because there's just less tourneys. Once Valve brought the majors in it killed off having like 50 Starladders, DHs, etc a year so there's just less opportunities to have a poorly run tournament.

Which would be great if all the tournaments we had left actually went perfectly.

It seems pretty natural to have some lack of judgement when it comes to things that are mostly about how comfortable players are, organizers often haven't been in the position of the player, they want to keep their costs as low as possible and may think something doesn't really matter. But when it comes to issues that straight up make the viewers go away it's just embarrassing.

And even before that organizers like Dreamhack and ESL were upping their game so they'd be the go-to choices for events like this. Just throwing it out there, the Frankfurt Major was organized largely by ESL staff and the entire tournament had fewer hiccups than these two days of Shanghai Major

My cousin had a job in China being like a liaison for an American company that makes like end cap store displays. His job was literally going "Yeah, I know you got that color of red paint super cheap, but see Target Red is a very specific trademarked color of red that we have to use. Yes, its more expensive but that specific color is a standard that needs to be met, it's not up for discussion." Always seemed crazy to me.
