Instead, he turn tail and run from the very beginning of every team fight because zeus ult has already taken away half of his hp pool.
So he turns on his BKB while Misery/ES initiates, won't be able to kill the target in time due to needing to physically walk there(and your BKB needs to be on while walking due to Earthshaker counterinitiation). That means you don't remove a threat from the fight(Skadi doesn't magically make you do massive amount of damage either) and you still lose. Blink allows you to burst and remove a threat from the fight with the right initation. A TB with Skadi can't manfight against Newbee's lineup lol, it dies when its BKB's run out, ~400-500 hp is not going to change that.

blink on TB is legit to me, but definitely followed by a diffusal.
400-500 hp is not much considering Newbee's burst, but it is not reasonable playing a 1.3k hp carry when it is already 30min into a game against a burst lineup..
I mean, if chuan gets a refresher like a 3k pub, ee can almost die to a refresh ult alone.

It's easy to talk about all that after it happend...
But I really have to say, I want to download the replay and watch that fight at the top lane to look what secret was doing, while w33 tried to kill ES... Smoke broke, w33 found ES with a stone-kick ... and nobody else moved in on him! WTF?

Did you know it's technically possible to cancel charge of darkness with savage roar? its aoe is 5 units larger. That's about a 5 millisecond window.

Which means its impossible to stop unless you get lucky and precast it before him since human reaction time are around 0.2 to 0.3 seconds.
