Secret 2.0 didn't play all that much either. They have just won tournaments unlike EG, thus found a certain style. Playing alot does not work for every team. PPD has mentioned this at one point that burn out is a thing. LGD spent 3 months figuring out how to play, CDEC did too as well as all the other chinese teams. You just stressed out that it worked for Secret that's not just exclusive to secret man OG has a different team dynamic than EG.

It varies from team to team, some methods work for some team some don't. Playing too much can also risk causing Burn-Out which EG already experienced before. There was a time EG won everything back then even when they didn't scrim before and played less. Yes, you can burn out. EG just play way too little, even if they learn a lot from analysing others.

How often in scrims do you think every team 'try hards'? Not much, right? Best way to try different stuff sometimes is in matches. Spontaneity can be a blessing and/or a curse - it looks great when it succeeds but horrible when it fails.

Idk they may need to play abit more but if they need to experiment now then they should if it meant playing better in the long run.

So many pros already said that official matches are the best practice cause most of the time nobody even tries their hardest on scrims
