I can't remember much from TI3 era, how regular was snowballing from laning stage and comebacks in 6.78? It's really toned down. You have to remember the first comeback gold patch nerfed the killstreak gold that was the original comeback mechanic, and now that they took a lot away from the comeback mechanic and the killstreak gold is nerfed.. /E Btw it's lovely to see the splitpush (centered around a set of heroes strong this patch?) vs 5man stuff (centered ofc around certain strong heroes) again, instead of drafts around 2 heroes every game.

I think the general consensus from pros is that the rubberband has very little effect in top tier matches (even in 6.83).

Fast push and deathball strategies were not really common if I remember correctly. Anyway it's a bit too early to make sure calls about 6.84, but I'm a bit pessimistic.

Wasn't that n0tail, and I think he said people shouldn't complain about losing because of it, not that he liked it necessarily.

Nah I was watching him talk about it on stream. He literally was like "I dunno why people hated 6.83 meta so much. Yes I am serious. FHDH is paraphrasing me here but this is basically what I said." Also this midlane is sadistic as FUCK.

Fast push and deathball were not as common (tho LGD.int was successful only because of that) but laning was hugely important. Team Sigma was notorious for focusing on winning the lane and keeping the advantage the whole game, that's why they made Treant and OD popular picks at TI3. Soe thought it was fine, most thought it was bad, at least the XP part.

Misery even said last night on his stream that he thinks the patch was good for competitive games and wasn't at all figured out even near the end. Of course this doesn't mean they liked everything about it or that they hate the current one, but just that much of the whining came from elsewhere.
