Isn't the comeback mechanic still in though? Just toned down. I can't remember much from TI3 era, how regular was snowballing from laning stage and comebacks in 6.78?

Well at TI3 you couldn't snowball as much as in 6.81 (and maybe 6.84) from the laning phase. Fast push and deathball strategies were not really common if I remember correctly.

Anyway it's a bit too early to make sure calls about 6.84, but I'm a bit pessimistic.

Fast push and deathball were not as common (tho LGD.int was successful only because of that) but laning was hugely important. Team Sigma was notorious for focusing on winning the lane and keeping the advantage the whole game, that's why they made Treant and OD popular picks at TI3.

Pretty sure Sigma was formed after TI3.

Is it just me or did they increase the resolution of the Calldown texture? It looked so silly when they first scaled it up, like enjoy your Doom II texture

I think the general consensus from pros is that the rubberband has very little effect in top tier matches (even in 6.83).

huh? whyd u think icefrog nerfed them more
all the pros I know agreed that it was still stupid, especially how it interacted with buyback

At least icex3 and a bunch of c9 players (bone7, n0tail, Misery) all talked like they didn't mind the patch. Misery even said last night on his stream that he thinks the patch was good for competitive games and wasn't at all figured out even near the end. Of course this doesn't mean they liked everything about it or that they hate the current one, but just that much of the whining came from elsewhere.

I blame the commentators (Tobi / nahaz etc...) who were already complaining like little girls as soon as they read the patchnotes, "oh my god this is league of legend shit" and started this propaganda against comeback mechanics while not understanding it.

Was Lycan banned? Seems like a much better fit for TTs strategy than Morph.

I mean, original version of comeback mechanics deserved all ridicule and flak it has got. 6.82b and further version of it however... yeah.

Well also certain pro players have complained about the patch, I believe PPD, Fear, Universe, Arteezy, Zai and Aui publicly talked about disliking at least some parts of the patch. Probably many more as well but those come to mind. Though I find it a bit interesting how a bunch of judgement is made even when there are no real tournaments around. Like people were talking about how progames are so "stale", when in reality the one big tournament of 6.83 was early in the patch (DAC) and other tournaments before SL were lacking a lot of good teams, so we didn't even get to see where drafting would actually go when several top teams play against each other on LAN. Then at SL I don't know if I would call what we saw from most of the top finishers "stale".
