IMO no game with Vici in it was very interested - i mean how killing 1-2 heroes then pushing 7 towers for 15 mins is fun? Yeah it's part of the game, but i really prefer old chinese style. It was not perfect, yeah, but we can not expect everyone's playstyle to be like Na'Vi's or c9. The teams that can make interesting games like IG, DK, C9, Na'Vi went down way too early this year.
Also i really hope next year there will be no Bo1s ( Eveb Bo2 is better). in the group stage The hype in Bo3 is way higher, also Bo3 shows the best teams correctly. Yes they have to play 6-7 days instead of 3-4, but the tournament is big enough so the teams and valve can afford it. You can not put so important matches in so important tournament on Bo1 games. I mean 1 misclick or one lucky rune can win you the game against better team.
They don't play for your entertainment, they play to win.

Alliance vs LGD Game 1 - splitpush tri-core with ganking mid Alliance vs LGD Game 2 - 5 man teamfight duo-core (Dire side)
Alliance vs DK Game 1 - splitpush tri-core ganking mid Alliance vs DK Game 2 - 4 protect 1 pushing lineup with Rosh control (Dire side) Alliance vs DK Game 3 - splitpush duo-core with ganking mid
Alliance vs NaVi Game 1 - 4 protect 1 stalling and counterganking lineup (Dire side) Alliance vs NaVi Game 2 - duo-cure pushing lineup with Rosh control (Dire side)
Alliance vs NaVi Game 1 GF - splitpush tri-core with ganking mid Alliance vs NaVi Game 2 GF - global ganking tri-core Alliance vs NaVi Game 3 GF - splitpush duo-core with ganking mid Alliance vs NaVi Game 4 GF - splitpush tri-core with ganking mid Alliance vs NaVi Game 5 GF - splitpush duo-core with antipush
What you call late game duo core can now win in 10 minutes if you play them differently.
Every hero in game can now win in 10 minutes if opponent does significant mistakes in drafting/laning/fighting, but it doesn't make Morph, Viper, Spectre, Invoker, Luna, Naix, Rubick, Shadow Demon, Lion, AA, etc heroes a facerush ones.
To be fair Newbie has been a pretty early to mid oriented agression team all year long so it might be why they adapted faster than the other teams.
That's why why needed DK in Grand Finals, because it seems they are the only ones who could cope up with that kind of agression.

I am assuming you mean bo2 groupstage. Ideally for me its bo2 you fight everyone but that is fucking lot of games 30 games per team excluding tie breaks and would take a lot time and I prefer bo1 16 round robin over bo2 8 team round robin.

TBH I feel like PPD drafting Alch helped out Newbee quite a bit. He's a very strong antipush hero when paired with any supplementary AoE. He had great effectiveness in both the second EG vs. VG game, and Newbee clearly picked up on this playing him in the series against VG as well.
Unfortunately, Arteezy played the hero far too greedily to get the same effectiveness in game 3.
i dont think it was ppd who started drafting alch at TI4. atleast not after the group stages since i watched most games and i believe iG was the team to have faith max out acid for antipush. some other team drafted it also but was maxing stun for some reason.
loda also drafted alch alot but as 1 position and just failed over and over.

Wait, is this the Navi that had to use fountain hooks to get to the finals last year? The bias is strong. When Navi used that crappy 'strat', all their fanbois defended it by saying play to win. And yet we are critical of VG's early game aggression? I am sure if C9 or Navi did it, they would be lauded for the execution and the 'plays'. Comparing it to 6 pool is ridiculous since you can see what heroes your opponent drafts so you can counter pick and also expect aggression. Teams just played it out poorly.

early push is VG play style, that's it
If we are going to call competitive gaming an e-sport than people need to accept to the fact that blowouts happen and to be mature enough not to throw a fit because the games weren't as entertaining as they hoped for, just look at last years Superbowl. Personally I do not see how anyone can find Newbee's climb from elimination round to the finals and win anything but entertaining.
