I don't know anything about LOL or Street fighter but if I check a stream with an EG/Liquid player I will pretty much automatically root for that guy. SK and Fnatic are also good examples although SK has kind of fallen pretty hard.

I was a fan of Tottenham Hotspur for a while because Rafeal van der Vaart played for them. Once he left, I lost interest. A lot of people support Messi, Ronaldo or Ibrahimoviz without necessarily being fan of the team ask those people and they will tell you they have a Team they will always support Obviously if theres a player i like i would cheer for that team (Arsenal now that Alexis Sanchez players for them), but Deportes Arica will always be my first and true love <3

Loyalty to organisations that mostly last only a couple years is totally different to ones that have been round for over a century. If you want to do that it's fine, but if you don't I don't see the problem. Where I'd make fun of people is if they're a "fan" when a team is winning and not when they're losing despite no changes in personnel. Loyalty to organizations... They is nothing 'noble' about being a fan. Emotional investment in and vicarious living through teams/players should be for fun and entertainment only. Anything more is unhealthy and delusional.

A lot of people support Messi, Ronaldo or Ibrahimoviz without necessarily being fan of the team I did explain that point in my post no? If you lose interest in a team once your supported player leaves you weren't really a fan of the team to begin with and just liked to watch the player. I've never supported Chelsea in my life but I always liked watching Didier Drogba play and as soon as he left I completely stopped following them unless they played against United.
