Really, do I need to go through his games and show him what he got to cast? He got PLENTY of good matchups that were top teams against each other.

But honestly, judging from tobi's replies he thinks he did nothing wrong still. Somehow casting this event is his privilege. It would be behind the screen, except that he keeps throwing it in people's faces. He talks about it during his casts, he tweets about it... The only thing he hasn't done is post here. Valve hasn't said anything, the other casters haven't said anything; it's all Tobi. If this blows up on him, and I hope it does, he has no one to blame but himself.

This is unacceptable behavior from the biggest Dota personality, the community needs to make him know we don't like this? What the fuck did you expect? That nobody says a thing? ofc things are justified when its going on... anyone call off a witch hunt that is going on is obviously a witch and should be burnt, it has been like that since middle age. Fucking humanity is all about that. What am i expect? at least a decent community like teamliquid could be a bit smarter and consider about it, not fucking jumping on karma train bandwagon other. There are a lot of reasons going in to this witch hunt that should not be mentioned right now or it could literally kill the scene before it mature, mean while if not addressing them tobi will simply has to take everything on himself wrongfully. Things behind the scene, way people communicate... outsider pretty much know nothing and just pointing fingers. Solely the fact that a caster like tobi, casting volunteer for this prelim round, for 12 hours straight itself deserves a fucking medal but shit like this. Hell i cant even just sit there and watch comfortably but he need to constantly screaming at the screen and at the end of the day became a bad guy. OH FUCK NO.

When Day[9] did that Battle Report for HoTS, you could almost hear his pain...I can't imagine doing that for twelve hours straight for two days. That said, it was pretty unprofessional. There's a difference here, obviously. You could almost hear Day's pain, but he wasn't talking about it on Twitter. The other thing, really, is that the situations aren't the same. Two crappy players playing an alpha version of a game to show off the new stuff is a completely different situation. This would be more like Day going on Twitter to complain about casting loser's bracket games instead of winner's bracket. Tobi's not getting worse matchups. Every team, every single one, at TI2 is a phenomenal team, capable of challenging for and winning tournaments. To say that the matchups he's getting aren't good enough is horseshit, and disrespectful to you as a viewer, the organizers of the tournament and the teams involved. As for the games themselves, at MLG, Stephano and Leenock played a series with multiple six-pool ling/drone all-ins. It was horrible. And djWHEAT and dApollo casted the fuck out of it and made it one of the coolest, funniest series of the tournament. That's what you do when you have a sub-par game. You give it your best and make magic happen. Purge, Sheever, Luminous, GoDZ, LD, 2GD, Aysee, Draskyl and every other caster there have been doing that; Tobi's choosing to mope.

I am sorry to everyone who has been following the drama over the past 2hrs, and for all those people who have been offended by my decision to not cast the games assigned to me by valve. I have also appologised privately to Andrew and Dylan (the guys in charge of the schedule) but this is also publicly to them. They are doing the best job they can under a pressured situation and I should have been alot more respectful to them. To the guys that just when on a flame spree...good to see the DOTA community still has the fire. While I could list the classic tired, etc reasons for why I decided what i did, the fact is it was a dick move and there were much better ways about going about the whole thing. The way which should have been done and after talking it over with andrew, dylan and Ice will now be what happens: I will cast the DK vs M5 and coL vs Darer matches in the client on DOTA TV (The sound issue we found the problem and have fixed now) and the matches which I really want to stream as well I will cast later from the DOTA TV database. That way everyone gets what they want, and I don't leave games uncovered. My appologies again, self confidence can get the best of me, has helped me to deal with most of the DOTA flamers, but in this case gave them something really I would even flame myself about. http://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/yxyih/tobiwan_refusing_to_cast_international_matches_on/c5ztmob

He's not casting from the goodness of his heart. He may not be getting paid as he said for the prelims, but it's certainly in his BEST interests to cast as much of TI2 as he can, obviously.

Shoutcasting is his work. He gets money for doing it. He wasn't fucking volunteering for anything, he was working for 12 hours, you idiot. Why should he get a medal for doing his job?
