thinking out loud:
been reading that the (very) poor perforamance of the EU teams stems from their lack of preparation (basically just about a month of bootcamp) as compared to the Chinese teams who reportedly have been training for 3 months already just for TI2...
was also thinking if maybe the Chinese teams have been scouting the EU teams to bits... i dunno, i mean im from SEA and i have no idea where to look for and watch VODS of these chinese teams, whereas all the VODS for the EU teams are just in joindota.com? have the EU teams been observing the Asian teams? im just really surprised at how one sided the matches are...

Dendi was doing a good job of tagging the SK to either stop blink or cancel epi. SK needs to do a better job of using the full range of blink dagger in situations like these.

What we need is for CLG to pull a miracle win vs. LGD to keep the Western hope alive. Otherwise it's looking that every single top Western team is going to be sent into the LB with CLG then going out in the first round of Ro8.

CLG pretty much got lucky on day 1 while Zenith and Na'Vi faced reality. I wouldn't be surprised if Zenith and CLG ended up with almost even records.

If they 1-1 vs. DK they're still likely to only qualify as 2nd seed because it's very unlikely that LGD will drop a game to aL or Mouz.

And i remember how people complained about inviting bad Asians teams over good european teams

Well there's going to be one Western team in the WB at the minimum, though I hope for the sake of having regional competition that it isn't the minimum, obviously. There's 7 Asian teams, and iG, LGD, DK have basically already secured their spots. There's 9 Western teams and none of them have a guaranteed spot in the WB yet.

I really hope that happens minus the CLG in the winner's bracket. I actually want AL in winner's over them.

yes and TongFu won with them against Orange in their first game

I'm torn apart... as a Na'Vi fan it's sad to see that nothing works out where months ago they would tear most other teams apart. But looking at those matches it's a lot of awesome entertaining DOTA... just wouldn't mind a few more close games instead of stomp after stomp in every second matchup

TBH seeding isn't a big deal as long as you aren't 4th in bracket A. Being 1-3 means you have to play 2-4 in bracket B, which are all of similar skill levels. As long as you dodge IG, you are golden.

not sure if i should watch Loda vs piecat or Yamateh vs Dendi... hard choice :-/ #TI2worldProblem

Seeding isn't that important, not finishing bottom 8 is what's important.
I suppose Western teams are fortunate there are only 3 Chinese teams that are virtually unwinnable for them, and two SEA teams that are just slightly below. Had China brought in eight teams of this caliber we'd be watching all Chinese Ro8.

I'm sorry that is absolutely misguided. EU/NA have been playing dota2 since TI1, Chinese teams only started playing Dota2 after the invites. Granted, they've been playing dota1 throughout and for years. EU/NA invites were finalized not long after Chinese invites. Training (bootcamping or not) by all teams happened since invites confirmed, so a lack of training is own team's fault. Every team has trained as hard as they can, $1m is good incentive.
EU/NA has access to Chinese vods via youtube of BTS, prodota, online cups, etc.Youtube is not available in China, so Chinese teams do not really know Western playstyles though they will scrim with anyone who wants to without crazy ping like SEA. They also have some experience from the limited online scrims here n there despite the lags/delays.
They are dominating simply because they are better. Dota1 they are super scary, and their skills have ported over kind of. Put it this way, if this was dota1, most of the non-Chinese teams will barely get a win.
Online results dun matter cause a slight delay makes a big deal. If the ping is half-second delay, I need to click half-second faster and sometimes that is just impossible if your reaction time is within half a second (say 0.4 secs) of the event happening even if on LAN I may be faster (say I react within 0.3 secs). So all online results like even prodota or BTS can be disregarded. LAN is the true test where all are on equal terms n its just about the team's form that day, strategy n execution.
Just my 2 cents.
