Meh, I'd like to follow this, but the groupstage with everyone advancing kinda feels oversized. Gonna watch highlights and tune in for the knockout stages.

Ban Morphling or pick him.

the prevalence of morphling in first three picks makes me think that doom is a plausible option. get to pick him in last two against morph, and have two bans to help set him up. doom just shutting down morphlings ability to be so slippery let's you gank and shut him down with ease, though you'd likely need doom to grab kobold aura and go roam-ganking with Earthshaker or venomancer. and that means doom as a 4th position.

According to http://dota-academy.com/tournament/58/

only 62% winrate for morph.

A small fix to your statement: Ban Morphling, or pick and play him as a solo mid. I can't give you the exact number, but his winrate in games he went to solo mid are much higher than games he went to other lanes.

Hey I got two questions
Is it possible to easily access replays you have already downloaded, and is it possible to run dota w/o an internet connection? (To watch replays of course!)

Plce your replays in the dota folder, then you just need to type "playdemo *filename*" and the replay will run. For example, playdemo 85729759.

I'm not sure if you can run it offline.

They are completely capable of playing a hell of a lot better than they did today.

Everyone is able to see that this is not the Na'Vi that we're used to playing today. The Na'Vi we're used to doesn't make the sorts of amateur mistakes this team called Na'Vi has been making all day long.

This is not just me hyping up Na'Vi. People who have followed Na'Vi before know this.

The question is whether Na'Vi is able to achieve that form again and within the span of a week.

Because 3-29 vs. iG sure as heck isn't the best they're able to do. Shit, they did better than that in Dota 1 with 1-2 months of practice.

They are having issues but Na'vi clearly is just way below iG on an individual skill level. You don't get 3-29'd unless you're just completely outclassed or are seriously jacking around (which I highly doubt they were). Dendi for instance got completely crapped on mid by Ferrari in one of the games.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Na'vi is the best team from the EU/NA scene, but they are not by far the best team. They were completely overrated, and many teams from the EU/NA scene are very close in terms of overall level of play. coL proved this that despite being on a lower level of individual skill, they are much better at overall strategy and teamwork coming into the International.

I think they are slightly outclassed skill wise, but I think the main problem is that since the departure of artstyle/winning a shit ton of money and everyone telling them they are the greatest they stopped working as hard and wanting it as bad which was quite evident multiple times in the past year. They are good enough to compete with top teams, they just aren't good enough to "turn it on" just when they need it while coasting most of the time.
Ignore my opinions I am bad

With the whole bo2 thing we could possibly be seeing some ties and thus some tiebreaker matches. There doesn't seem to be much detail on exactly what format the tiebreakers will be though. This is all I could find on dota2.com

There are 2 completely free days not to mention most of tuesday that are open for more tiebreaker games.

Na`vi used to run on superior team fight for a while, but then the gaps in the early game started getting bigger and bigger and now the competition is higher than ever. Not sure what they need to do or what they CAN do to get things back together.

Not only the competition got better, but na vi play is far from flawless like it was before. Not sure is the 2 are related, but some of their plays yesterday (xbox storm spirit ><) were sad.

It technically does, but only for matchmaking, and not for the private, competitive matches.

And still, the API doesn't give you lanings, for example. I want something that gives me lanes and heatmaps for each game, and I have good hopes that they'll deliver.

I think there are three factors right now playing against Na'Vi: 1) they're out of shape. Maybe burned? 2) Teams seems to have them figured out; 3) They didn't figured out the other teams.

But still, they played against super strong teams. We'll see if their performance will change in Day 2.
