iG also has "guy who doesn't even play competitively", the problem is that there's 3 tier of teams
good "good by western standards" joke
and all the "good by western standards" tier teams are in one group along with 2/3 good teams, wheras one joke team is surely to make it out of the group stages

Considering that the "joke" teams most probably actually prepared for the event, i would value them higher than teams that most probably will play their first match as a team during the groupstage.

Nor was mouz roster sure

The point is there's a difference between "good by western standards" and "teams that might lose in the finals of the TL community league" in terms of level of jokes

And how is that mouz team not a joke? Going 1-2 in an easy group at dreamhack, than replacing their main player with a scrub. Doesn't really support that they are good for western standards.

Also I really really reaaaaaaaaaaally hope that Doa actually knows something about Dota and we don't get a joke like Tasteless casting league for OGN. I checked his twitter and he hasn't posted a single thing about dota in the past 3 weeks. I'm not very happy but we will see. It's very ironic because that's how Tasteless got his casting gig...let's hope DOA proves the presumptions wrong. I won't be judging him regardless as surely he is inserted to prevent Tobi from asphyxiating.

I don't see the reason to bring him in if he has no clue about the game. The only reason I can see is his connections and that he can cast SC 2.Still I'm very sceptical. Not to mention that they forgot to invite v1lat. lol

Not to mention that they forgot to invite v1lat. lol Yeah, but most of the people they're bringing are in Korea, because it's significantly cheaper. To add to that they might also have contacts in Korea and just said 'we need English casters'. And they said "Alright, here's Khaldor, DOA, etc...". Because if someone who knew the scene was making the decisions, they'd get GoDz. Hell, they could even fly over that Vietnamese caster, he's amazing.
I just hope that if he is casting Dota he has at least done his homework and doesn't start using LoL terms. If he's not that educated on the scene or in-depth strategy, doesn't really bother me.

well... you don't need much game knowledge to be brought up to par with half of the current roster of dota casters.
some of them will admit it too, like 2gd or ayesee(?). i say judge him not for his lack of dota knowledge but for his ability as a caster

No, but you need to know ability names at least. And if you don't play/cast then that's not going to end pretty.
But hell, Tobi is put in the same position doing WC3 (1v1) commentary. But if he's teamed up with Khaldor for that it'll be fine.
Then the question is also who's this 'Brendan/Bendan' guy.
|
Why is the event not in the TL calender? And why the SC2 casters like Khaldor? Sorry but when I see high level play I want to hear two top casters stroking their genitals in excitement instead of one caster not truly understanding what he saw. I want to see predictions based on experience.
|
Well it is in the calendar now. Khaldor is not casting Dota 2 but apparently Doa who is also casting LoL for OGN will cast dota 2. If he is going to say champions I'm not sure how I will react.
