Speed should be the same, but maybe you get that feeling because area you can see on your screen is bigger in dota2. In dota1 you may see incoming orb later, and have less time to react... my wild guess | ||

Its hard to say what exactly is different, could be visual, could be due to engine but simply put the pros feel better playing puck in dota 1 than in dota 2. And because they feel different they would rather pick a hero that feels better and thus puck is not used especially since theres so many viable heroes to choose from. | ||
