While RP's get stolen like 40% of the time it seems when a rubick and mag is in the same fight.

I think it's the second easiest major ult to steal personally. 1) blackhole 2) RP 3) Ravage it's all about positioning really. if you are in a good spot (aka not getting hit by the ults) all of these can be stolen reasonably reliably even if the other player tries to mask their spells. I can understand stealing BH is easy because is channeled but ravage and RP should never be stolen because the heroes have really easy spamming spells in shockwave and anchor smash. Ravage is relatively hard to steal correctly because it's got such a huge AoE. RP has a much smaller AoE. It's pretty difficult for Rubick to be relevant during a fight when he has to be 1000+ units away from the rest of his team to steal Ravage without risking getting hit by ravage before he can get it off.

yes, this is why I put ravage below RP as well.
The range on ravage is large enough that it's harder to be far enough to avoid, but close enough to steal right away. RP is so much smaller you can be out of range to be hit comfortably and still stand confidently in spell steal range.

Stealing ravage gets easy once the Rubick has a bkb. Before that, it's pretty impossible all things considered.
|
My point is WHY players when playing against Rubick just dont spam a spell right away after big spell like RP or similar game changing spells ?
|
Perhaps more impressive than the RP steals were the times the rubick lifted up the Magnus the millisecond he blinked in.

they do man.. you think pro's just give away ults? You can't avoid it sometimes. Not to mention their was a puck in the game that was doing his best to stay out of RP to silence instantly to assist the rubick to steal.
Without a huge goof from the player, ever pro will TRY to mask their big spells from rubick, you simply CANT do it sometimes as we've pointed out in this thread multiple times.

If a support Rubick is farmed enough to get BKB in a relevant time on top of the other items he needs (wand, arcanes, blink / force staff) then the games probably going well anyway.

Considering RP , Shockwave\Empower\Skewer has a decent cast animation that makes it easier to steal. I find that ravage can be stolen quite effectively if the rubick is quick...And being a 1000 range away doesn't matter too much since at that point the rubick will probably have his blink and can just blink and Ravage (which also has a ginormous radius)

cast animation on shockwave is pretty long, plus you can be silenced/hexed/etc

Rubick isn't always laned as a support, he's a decent mid laner if the picks are there.

If rubick isn't hit by the ult he can just pick up mag so he can steal it. Chrono, Fiends grip, Black hole are all fairly easy to steal. Ravage is fairly hard to steal. RP is somewhere in between those

Use the sound as a cue for ravage and RP. Pretty simple but considering the pressure in a match its a remarkable feat.
|
Its not really the fact he stole it thats impressive, its that he got off really, really good counter RP''s after he stole them imo.

Man the odds on the next two games... basically 6 rares for 1 on both underdogs but the favored teams have looked so dominant in previous head to heads .

My bets don't work anymore, says all the trade bots are banned.
Anyway, I'd bet on both Dignitas and EG with those odds. na-europe games are also somewhat luck based because of servers (I'm sorry but the statistics say so whatever you people say). So betting on huge underdog NA teams when there's a 50% chance they get 2 home-servers. That's a good bet.

EG is gonna rape dignitas, as always. #DotADeMoN

EG is playing Na'Vi according to dota2lounge, what games are you talking about?

Yeah its Alliance vs Dig and Navi vs Eg. You can guess which one is the 80% favored in each one xD.

Well. Isn't there a lower bracket ? :p
