The loss to mouz at EMS seems to have lit a fire under them as well, they haven't lost a series since. They were at the top of the EU scene since starladder, I think, but up until the last few weeks they at least looked human

It's funny - right when they kicked Envy I was kinda unsure how they'd do. Then they proceeded to do alright, but no real big change. Then after a week or two they just began winning. And winning. They're in my mind without any doubt the best western team right now, and their execution is looking scary - I think they can contend some of the Chinese teams at TI3 if they keep this up.

They've gone through a lot of changes through-out though without really losing their momentum.
Like right at the start they were drafting iG style facerush line-ups. Then they got into all this chen/jugg mid-game pushing stuff. Now they actually feel like a complete team that can pull out just about anything.

Anyone else feel teams play Nyx on an excessively support-y manner? They usually end up with a really underleveled Nyx that can be easily picked off in the mid-late game

But Luna, while still not the hardest of carries, can be really dangerous from the moment she gets a bkb/drums/tranquil. Of course it cannot stand against PL but EG bet on a better midgame that would allow a fairly more farmed luna to carry them.
And that could have happened if they won midgame harder. Void/PA/Morph are a liability early game and even they cannot stand against a PL at equal farm. So both Luna and Gyro, the 2 "chemo heroes" rely on them having at least 5k more net worth than the PL, coming from a really stronger midgame.
(Also the casters underplayed the role of BM-Naix combo, that was shutting Luna down in the mid-game and early late-game. That was the whole purpose, to keep Luna within PL's reach, item wise.)

But in the mid-late game, and underlevelled Nyx can't even gank effectively, sometimes you can't even pull the combo off. With faster levels, mana burn becomes a real threat, in both damage and mana burning potential.

Paired with naix it should be enough to shut down a PA for a long part of the game, there's bat to help though, and Hand of God too
