"this is why this game is popular".
uh no.
To me it is, if I wanted a fade game with everything linear, toned down I would play lol. But there are a lot of weird things, OP stuff which makes this game amazing.
Anyway I don't even know why everybody is whining about fountain hooks, because it was Tong fu's fault not capitalizing enough when they had their advantage, and letting Hvost farming like mad men. Sure fountain hooks are flashy, but it was just a cleaver strategy to buy time for Hvost, killing one random hero every 5 minutes is not turning a game around.
Nobody has answered this question. What could Tongfu have done to win that game?
Fnatic pulls off an excellent draft again (they've had some really good ones this tournament). AM+Prophet so greedy and can still be out-dpsed with this aura strat lategame.
I tend to be towards the bottom, you play to win, I mean how many cheese outs have we seen in major SC2 games? Tons
I have yet to see any 'creative special strategies' in SC2 where if you can time 2 abilities well you one shot the enemy army.
Every argument that 'this is hard' are ridiculous. It's not hard for the best players in the world since they do this every day all the time.
I think the Archon Toilet disagrees with you. the second part is more like a click on the vortex, but still it's just an easy combo, if you hit the vortex well.

To sum it up short, they were scared shit less to do anything to capitalize when Pudge missed his hooks.
It was Tungfu's game to win or lose, Na'Vi the experience beasts that they are, were able to play patiently and come out on top in the end due to Tongfu's passive play.
Thanks for the non-answer. Pudge misses hook. And Na'Vi is 2 screens away from where Dendi just was sent back from. What can Tongfu do?
Ban pudge, ban chen, have one of there supports focused on eating the fountain hook in a team fight, blocking pudge LOS with creeps or gargoyles. NaVi created a tactic and people are butthurt that there isn't some pre-created tactic to counter it. Time will tell if it is truely OP or not.
you know you've lost when your argument for how to counter-play the exploit abuse is to ban the heroes that are needed to do it
LOS with gargoyles or creeps, pushing advantage on missed hooks (he missed twice as many hooks as he hit)
Anyways new game
the fact he missed so many of those fountain hook attempts is proof of the fact that it isn't a high risk move at all

ward, push when they had a huge advantage, play aggressive when pudge misses hooks

Slow siege with manta style illus and necro summons is the best thing I can think of.

Not get hooked, that's about it. They were doing what they needed to do, trying to 5v4 and take aegis and timing push to end the game once they had the advantage. Losing the aegis to the fountain hook completely changed everything though.
Na'vi just played it smart and used a mechanic in a smart way. They knew they couldn't instagib without the fountain, so they had to use it otherwise the game was lost. No one is saying it didn't take skill, but whether or not it should be in the game is probably up for discussion.

Just because TongFu were too passive to push a 5v4 advantage doesn't mean it wasn't high risk.
We've been over this like 50 times, I'm just going to watch the next game now.

You're all about gimicky bs, "OPA DENDI OPA XD!!" like this hook or freaking Ursa and meepo ugh. What a ton of crap, that was a disgusting game and Na'Vi should be ashamed. But nope, everyone stood and screamed and clapped at such a shameful display, there was no skill, no team play just fucking luck. I hope Alliance destroys these people tomorrow, I look forward to it.
OH NO PEOPLE ARE PLAYING TO WIN IN A 1.4 MILLION DOLLAR FIRST PRIZE TOURNAMENT
A BLOO BLOO BLOO
:|
That "victory" was 100% luck, Na'Vi displayed NO skill in that match.
Ohwow, we do not need to get that low. Is it normal for SC2 threads? I thought people who were whining about WoL infestors+broodlords had been warned or ignored.

Yeah they should have aggressively engaged 5v4 when Dendi missed his hooks
