Last series we had people whining about the crowd. Looks like this one is going to be people whining about the format.

Its worth noting that net chose to fiends grip lifestealer rather than enigma several times in the last few engagements.

I'm sure that aegis deny really fucked with their minds.

you guys are acting like naix is a hypercarry like am alc or spec.

he falls off and orange had a shitton of lockdown for him.

if orange gets that aegis, navi sits behind their towers, that bad fight in dire woods doesnt happen, those fail bb's never happen, puck never gets his hex, enigma doesnt get his blink.

this game would be totally different.

and orange has run mushi od as their 1 before and has proven that it does dmg late

Yeah, its called being cool under pressure. Its the sign of a great team.

The salty Orange fans are funny. Orange is a great team and played really well, but couldn't hold it together in the end.

That had nothing to do with it. If they didn't deny the aegis Na'Vi lost, simple as that.

Not true. The gold lead wasn't large at all. Experience was ~10k even though Orange had an over 10 kill advantage. The deny was definitely unfortunate, but Na'Vi showed greater composure and deserve it.

Na'vi couldn't leave their base/t2 tower mid...an aegis meant 6 more minutes of orange map dominance and further gold and xp advantage

And it doesn't matter because lifestealer would rock their face, everyone would have BKBs and Bane would pop like a zit.

Rage doesn't last forever. Once it wears off, if Mushi just manmodes and attacks him he will die. But he couldnt because he had no aegis so he ends up running away doing NOTHING

The aegis denial was deciseve, not because it was so important per se but because they were shellshocked after that. After all SEA teams are known to choke

I hope the team isn't too hard on kyxy. Hopefully Orange sticks together and they will give us some great games in the future.

I've seen some sick FGC matches that wouldn't be possible without winner's advantage.

Plus it's called double-elimination for a reason, so that everyone can lose once and still stay in the tournament

I will admit that the game was closer than it seemed to be though. It wasn't exactly a comeback because it wasn't near over like many people have been saying.

I spent the whole game trying to explain to people that it wasn't close to being over, Na'Vi had a better team as the game went on, and that Orange would have a time going high ground, but I didn't actually think Na'Vi would win.

As for if the Aegis deny making a huge difference. There isn't really a way of knowing. They could have got the tower and denied a bunch of gold/xp for a while, but Na'Vi always had the chance of getting a lucky teamfight.

of course it was a huge difference, because the aegis deny made it a guaranteed loss for orange

The lack of winner's bracket advantage is kind of weird. Navi have to sweep Alliance to have a better head to head. They can't have a better overall record. Combined with how completely crushed Navi got in the winner's bracket finals, I can't really see a way Navi can win TI3 and look like the best team which is never a very good taste for a tournament.

It's lucky I don't think they can win, anyway, at all.

Wait, there isn't WB advantage? O.o

My friends told me that there is.

Well, Na'Vi have already 3 games under their belt and thats kindof a disadvantage when going into a BO5 ^^

I completely disagree. If you want some kind of 'best team' metric that's more reliable, you need to run a multiple-round Swiss tournament instead of double elimination. It's just that noone (apart from the MtG community) cares about Swiss tournaments because it takes away all the tension, suspense and drama of traditional finals, with people actually dropping out.

Anyways, I feel like [A], Na'Vi and Orange would all have been worthy winners of this, so I'm happy already.

People who are far better at Dota 2 disagree with you. Even with the aegis, they might not have been able to break the base. They have one damage source that was losing steam.

You don't take psychological effect in account.
Nobody is saying that if Aegis was on Orange it was like instant win, but the game wouldn't have ended so abruptly.
Anyone who denies that is a blind NaVi fanboy.

Within the past few pages someone literally just said if Orange had aegis Na'Vi would have lost.

Oh I am sure that fucked with them. However, its their job to recover and you can't claim otherwise.

I am saying NaVi got incredibly lucky and people are making sound like it was the biggest comeback in history of Dota, that's it.
I think their strategy is to dumpster bad Western teams (c) uriel

having no winner's advantage is absolutely atrocious for alliance. i don't know what the organizers were thinking.
