I think EG should have been favored lategame since Clockwerk and DK are pretty natural counters to Lifestealer, who was the solo carry for his team. I think Alliance just had better decision making and superior micro during the fights. Alliance's teamfight is super easy to pull off compared to EG's though. Their single concern is to make sure Magnus isn't picked off, so he can counterinitiate with ulti. EG had to somehow find Magnus, hit him with hookshot, stun him through BKB using Abyssal, actually kill him off during the Abyssal stun (else he'll just ulti or skewer out).
And instead, Clock hooks an invisible Jeyo and there's your ruined teamfight :/
Mag banned now, hoping for an s4 storm.
Also Alliance should go Alchemist, hes buffed against Naix now ^^

bounty is first pick/ban material now?

Loda and Bulldog will surely find their farm if s4 is creating space for them. The reason for Alliance's success IMO has been their understanding of the evolution of the 3 role.
The 3 has seen a massive surge in importance since before TI3 and since. Look at the top teams ATM, and they are teams that have a game changing 3 player. The key is that Alliance is able to use Bulldog to fill the gap of either Loda/S4 shutdown and transition the game late.
I think the whole idea of "Shut down this 1 player on Alliance and you win" is vastly overstated. The way they play is balanced around figuring out where they will have the most space, exploiting that, then using smart plays and buybacks to catch other players up.

NS works fine if you can shut down the opponent enough as in to constrict their farm by taking towers and obtaining map control. That did not happen that game, Alliance was always farming better. It makes it so that come lategame there will be enough of a farm advantage so that you can crush lategame.

Zeus vs lifestealer seems... questionable.

God yes! I really love Zeus.
|
Can anyone explain the Zeus? I just don't get it, especially against Naix who not only is immune, but also kills him super fast.
|
Hope the Zeus pick will work this time! Seems a little weird to pick him against LS though...but then again I didn't win TI3 lol

At least is not Zeus vs Dendi Troll mid, that was something else.

Alliance: 1 sword hero EG: no sword hero
Looking grim for EG.

Who will win Navi or Mouse ?
I can see Mouse winning this one, they are way too hot inform right now.

Zeus + furion ult wombo combo also with zeus ult you completely disable the ES blink hopefully for long enough to win the fight.
Plus WR/Lesh/ES are all reasonably squishy heroes that you can blow up.
Lesh especially has egregiously poor strength gain.
Iunno seems like a cool pick. Not sure how optimal it is but it seems fun.

My take on it is that alliance really wants to try and crush EG's safelane. Alliance will have two global ults pretty quick (prophet and Zeus) and will try to snowball the advantage. The strategy is basically dependent on trying to force a tri v tri situation.
It seems really gimmicky to me, though who am I to judge.

Yes, indeed it is not. But if he picks such aggresive mid and offlane heroes he should pick a carry and support duo that is actually able to finish the game early (ES doesn't help with that at all) or is able to use the space to gain a farm advantage and thus win the lategame, like an Anti-Mage or a Luna (instead he drafted a DK).

jerax level stuns by fogged thats 3 misses in a row

Clocks a good hero but MSS is no bulba.

Another useless clockwerk pick, and a melee carry to go with it
