Show nested quote + Once in China the team will immediately sign a new contract with the same points explained above. So that shouldn't change. If the manager is an asshole he may be able to abuse the fact that this clause: Show nested quote + 4.1 Player shall receive one hundred percent (100%) of revenue derived from small tournaments, and a basic salary of one thousand dollars which will increase to two thousand dollars as soon as the team place top three in big tournaments such as: DSL - G1- wcg - Alienware - ACE - escl –Nexon. Doesn't specify MLG or what constitutes a big tournament. Their manager is an asshole from everything that's been revealed. Well, I guess monolith is the manager now and I've heard good things about him (besides the korok he-said-she-said anyways) but it seems like their CEO doesn't not give a fuck about his players. Sing and Pie got tickets with lower priority than standby tickets (didn't even know this was a thing cause people who hang around airports looking for cheap flights to anywhere for a quick holiday get standby tickets, you gotta dig deep for something lower than that) and Pie got his flight booked with a 1 day layover. Also, the guy was supposed to show up to MLG with their new jerseys and just never showed. Forget the new jerseys to replace the terribad white t-shirts, how do you even claim to have any passion for dota when you don't show up to a MLG that's basically mini-TI when you have the means to and your fucking team is playing and can use all the support they can get (2nd lan ever with not the usual 5). This is not to mention all the netolic TV bullshit (caster leaving in the middle of a cast, randomly switching to dailymotion, chat banning everything, sub mode with 2 subs, etc.) and releasing contracts without player knowledge to suck up to Loda. (I'm not against releasing contracts, but getting approval from your players should've been priority #1).

I guess you don't have a choice if you really want to be a progamer and you're not one of the select few universally accepted to be part of the world elite. But I agree, this contract is super sketchy. Ends when you arrive in China and then you get a new one? Sounds like a scam that will force you to become a coal miner at minimum wage. thats to allow them to back out without having to break the contract, deciding to live in china is a very big commitment to sign up to

Doesn't specify MLG or what constitutes a big tournament. regardless of if MLG is counted or not, it is exploitable if the contract starts from zero in china and previous results are not taken into consideration so their salary resets to 1000 hopefully that is not the case.Oh ffs people, learn how business works. Contracts are just there to cover people's asses. In a longer term relationship like this, there is no incentive to nickel and dime the players. As soon as EE-Sama and co. start winning big tournies, they will have all the leverage in the world to demand bigger salaries. If Rattlesnake doesn't want to pay up, then another team sponsor certainly will. Combing through their contract for minutiae like this might make you feel really clever or some shit, but it makes almost zero difference in reality. I highly doubt any salary dispute they have will go to court, which means the contract is really just a framework for the relationship. And the contract pretty clearly states its intent, which is to incentivize tourney wins with money. It's true that the minutiae don't matter all that much, but organisations fucking players over is very, very common even in normal sports (before you get to the very top).
