+ both of them are active, so if you get surprised, you dead. Linkens is still far superior 90% of the time.

Linken's Weaver is also made of paper when you're saving up for it because you buy 2k gold worth of combat-irrelevant regen. If you're going to make a farming item that wins you the game but has awful buildup, you may as well just get Radiance and farm 2-3 more items. Ok, so every high-level Weaver player in China obviously has no idea what they're doing, and Brax and Pajkatt are idiots for not building Linken's in G-League finals. I see now.

Who is smurf? My point is that it's not as bad as some of you say, and can be quite useful in certain playstyles.

linkens in a competitive game is just bad. in the average pub linkens will probably keep you alive and let you get ur ult off.

I think XBOCT built linkens on weaver in recent Navi games. They're often so far ahead that what they build has a totally different context, though.

They placed 3rd in SMM2011, winning 2 bo1s against LGD in a convincing manner. Of course you might argue that it's not relevant because it's so long ago and it wouldn't work nowadays etc. but then again they were the only team using Weaver like that back then (other teams went for Vang/Hood based builds or Treads Radi), and many people thought Linkens sucks and is just a pub item for Weaver. But it worked. They played trilane Weaver on their easylane, giving him freefarm. They would take the 2 towers on that lane asap, then the supports would go and do their thing on the map, while Weaver stays on that lane. Thanks to the farm and towers he is quite fat already, rushing Linkens asap. Then he would just pressure the lane 24/7. Thanks to the reg he doesn't need to go back ever and can spam Shukuchi and Swarm as much as he wants. Since the tier2 tower is gone already he will threaten and slowly chip on the base tower, forcing people to do something about him, but with the level and gold advantage he got in the early game and from staying on the lane 24/7 and of course the stats and spellblock he is almost impossible to gank, while using a single hero to defend is dangerous because he can just dive him. It's kind of like Broodmother, but arguably harder to kill and being stronger in lategame.

Not to mention how easy it is to counter it. Even in games where going linkens sphere is worth it's still not good to overly rely on it. The enemy sacrifices 1 ff/medallion/low cd spell/whatever on you and you are without the spell block.

Those 2 items made Linken's spell block virtually useless before that change.

I'm still really enjoying it in my low-level pubs. The splitpush is invaluable because most of my teams just want to clump afk mid until a teamfight happens, so if I can get towers down while making piles of money while pulling their players away while being unkillable, that helps a lot. Especially if the other carries are five levels below me because of clumping afk mid. Have had a couple games where we got pushed down early and I wasn't much help in teamfights with just aquila/wand/perseverence, but I'm still not sure that an urn would turn those around...

by all means keep building linkens because some progamer built it.
