Void backtrack was a triggered heal, right?
Would that mean AA ult prevents void from backtracking? Or can he still backtrack? I always wondered how the mechanics behind that functioned.

Triggered heals happen instantaneously when the damage is dealt and don't normally bring your HP above that amount (though sometimes stacking multiple triggered heals this way would allow you to gain HP, Ice Blast DOES prevent this), so they function just fine.

Whenever you come across a new hero that confuses you, read up what skills it has on wiki/whatever. That way you can focus on improving your play on a small pool of heroes but at the same time learn the spells of all heroes in the game. Eventually as you feel more confident you can branch out to more and more heroes. This is basically what I did. I played Sniper + Death prophet forever when I started. If you're not sure what heroes you wanna commit time to, I'd recommend either hitting random or playing single draft until you run across a hero you enjoy

The most standard one seems to be tango/salve/2x branch/1x or 2x slippers OR going for 3x branch&tango rushing bottle. The latter choice I find bad because its hard to get those lasthits early on. I've been testing wraith band + salve as it gives the most early damage with a buildup into RoA or just leaving it at wraith band. With branches I feel I have to get a wand else I'm being wasteful, even more so if dropping the branch is required. Thoughts?

Personally I would go for massing stats (slippers/branches/tango/salve) - you win the lane with getting some necromastery stacks up, not with getting a quick bottle.

You need to get rolling in lane early on or you're just gonna get shut down and not get any farm at all. It is worthwhile to waste 100 or 200 of your starting gold so you can get some souls to get the ball started rolling downhill.

Good players will abuse a regen disadvantage to to get you into a position where it's dangerous for you to lasthit, but at the same time, it's not efficient for you to salve yet (e.g. trade you down ~250 HP at level 1/2, then go eat a Tango while you're debating whether to waste your Salve). It's not a downside to make Wand as Shadowfiend because very typically you are going to participate in those midgame teamfights where Wand has high value. You're going to make and use wand in 99% of games on SF.

Personally I've only had trouble when people gank mid heavily or if it's a duo-mid lane(i play pretty conservatively till bottle). Your point about salve seems reasonable as the less HP you have the riskier it gets but using it before is very inefficient, indeed. BUT there's two choices from what I see. 2xslipper/2xbranch/tango/salve gives you 8 dmg, and good regen but you gotta sell those slippers so its a bit ineffective imo. or wraith band + salve, which gives you 9 damage and it's a great efficient item early on which you can also turn into aquila. I guess it comes down to early risk factor because you only have a salve and stick vs aquila, which I guess stick wins. But early aquila is really handy on SF even with bottle&tread swapping I find myself going oom a lot.

Makes mid-laning with SF hilariously easy. Downside is veno giving up all level 1 potential. It's gimmicky as hell, but funny. neat trick ![]() for SF (and most mid carry agi heroes) I usually go the standard 1 slipper, 3 gg branch, tango and salve which should give you spare money to get that wand faster. then Ill get wraith band next while building up for thread and just wing it from there but in pub Lothars+Daedulus is sooo great on SF.Initiating team fights with ulti like a boss then 1 critting all the almost dead heroes

Anyway, wouldnt her mana and HP pool already make her ridiculous? Getting skadi and linkens up will make her almost unkillable. Even with blademail unless all 5 enemies make blademail for that maximum self rape.
