I still fuck it up like half the time, especially with a melee support like SK.
The camps are so far apart that the window for the last small creep dying feels like no more than the last 0.5s of the big camp's leash, which is really hard to hit. Is there a secret to doing it consistently? The only thing I've heard which helped with this is to start pulling once there is ~500 hp left on the creeps in the easy camp.
i think someone said it was bulba who said to pull at 400hp

iono i just do it by assessing how much damage theyre doing. Definitly prepare yourself before, the small camp doesnt give you much gold anyway

i can show my ranked games but it doesnt let me filter out games where im not in a party
the only way to tell is to open every game and see if my friends name is in it I don't think Dotabuff can tell if it was solo or party?

also you can just stack the small camp before pulling it, does the same thing afaik, much safer, cant fuck it up unless that healing fuckwad decides to stay put
|
dont attack the creeps when its the troll priest or he wont move
|
what do u do then attack the priest instead? or just walk up to them
|
You just walk up until they attack you. You can also issue an attack command and then cancel it to get aggro from slightly further away, but whatever you do don't damage anything in the camp or the healer won't leave.
And obviously you can just stack the small camp instead of chain pulling, but that's a different thing. There are plenty of times where you want the extra xp and gold from the chain, or don't have time to stack, or it's just a more efficient way to get gold out of the jungle.

Anyone having issues with the US East servers? Need to know if a virus scan is needed or if it is just avlve being fucking retarded.
|
Everyone is complaining about USE servers, it's whack. I wouldn't put it past DC/DDos hacks too. Scan your computers anyway, why not?
I've had someone download a remote trojan on my PC Through HoN and drop & attack destroy all my items. Valve well same situation w/ CSGO, anyone can pull your IP and dos/ddos/whatever you.

Its the servers then since I scanned my computer. Time to play superior moba I guess.

Found another draftmodule, is it any good? You can input the enemy picks and he gives dotabuffwinrate suggestions. Anyone ever drafted with this tool?
|
Keep in mind that the best hero in dota has a 43% winrate on dotabuff so it's literally impossible for a draft-suggester based on dotabuff to have any relevance whatsoever.
Okay so technically yes some hero-hero interactions are somewhat indicated on dotabuff (like how ember spirit is really good vs meepo) but just ignore that shit and use ur brain.

Honestly, most of the time you're better off just picking a cohesive teamcomp your team can play rather than counterpicking. Individual hero interactions are only useful if they're supplementing a teamcomp that already kind of makes sense. If you have a hodgepodge of heroes that "counter" individual heroes on the enemy lineup, but make zero sense together themselves, it's still not helpful.

you should also consider strong heroes that can itemize and soft counter heroes as well. usually that can go hand in hand with yango's comment about picking to your team's strengths and cohesion.

Does the 500 range aggro trick apply to towers? I've been testing it a bit and it seems under certain conditions you can stand almost next to tower and still right-click the enemy hero if friendly creeps are attacking the hero as well.
I mean that makes sense, but doesn't an enemy hero issuing a right-click order override tower's attack priority from creeps to heroes?

Tower aggro range is longer than its attack range. This is why you trigger aggro of the tower outside of its attack range, [ but still in its vision ] then you can attack for the 2 sec aggro cd as much as you want on the hero directly under the tower if you want. ' Aggro ' can be considered to have a global cooldown for enemy creeps/towers. Nobody has cared enough to write a proper guide on this stuff as its confusing but it would help you a great deal to learn it as a player.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=288488800 That's the best one for dota 2 to explain what's technically going on if you don't believe me for some reason.

Thanks for a great reply. My question still remains though.
In the guide you linked there's these two priorities: 1.Closest enemy hero attacking a friendly hero with auto attack 2.Closest enemy creep attacking a friendly hero with auto attack
They don't seem to be true if you watch this video(ignore the point of the video, just focus on that particular moment where he attacks the sven). VIDEO
Even the guy probably gets confused, because he's waiting for the tower to switch to him lol.
I've always thought enemy hero attacking a friendly hero by rightclicking will force the tower to switch, but it's not the case. It seems the tower will only switch to the hero if he's in front of the creeps. Which in practice means you can harass people under their tower if you have range/movement speed advantage.
At least I think it's like that..

I only find these useful when I can't be bothered during solo queue to actually pick a hero and don't want to random and fuck my team comp. Just get ideas from that sort of thing as to what to play. I feel like that's a way better way to use them than to actually draft based on them.
