When we first launched these threads, they had a lot of information about the teams and we wanted them to act like hubs both for fans and the general Dota audience. However, over the years we've lost track of these threads and they've started decaying. Most of the OP's, if not all of them, haven't been updated since late 2014/early 2015, which means that the information is outdated, embeds aren't working, and the "recommended game" section is severely outdated. And that's what we're looking to change.
The biggest change you'll notice is that we've added some javascript to make the threads wider. If we were to use buzz-words, we hope that this will make the experience more immersive. It also allows us to present the information in a better way and we can have nice, big, header-images of the teams. (Except for teams that apparently don't like taking pictures of their players.... Looking at you, Mineski!)
We've also chosen to automate as much as possible. The lineups, upcoming and recent matches, achievements, and team links are all pulled directly from Liquipedia. The only sections that are manually updated are the "Articles/News" and "Interviews" section. And this is where we need your help. It can be hard to keep track of all news sites on the internet and while we wished that LiquidDota was the only site you ever had to visit, we know that's not realistic. So if you run into an article/interview/well written news item on another site, go ahead and post it in the thread and we'll update the OP with a link. We've pre-populated all the current threads with links but desperately need your help to keep the OP's up to date.
We hope that this will get you to visit the first post of the threads more often, to stay up to date with your favorite teams/players. For now, this change has only been implemented for teams that will be at TI9 but as we plan on keeping this going, we will add/update more team threads as we go along. So feel free to suggest more improvements that we could implement and we'll do our best. But no guarantees.
Oh, and one last thing. As you probably noticed, we've brought back the team banners for TI9. As long as they're up, clicking them will link you to the corresponding team thread!
