QoP vs. PL is not an easy matchup for qop, PL can dodge shadow strike, and PMS makes qop right clicks irrelevant. On the other hand PL has a significant damage advantage and can spam lances.

The game against Alliance looked nearly the same as the NAVI one.
Strong ppy as 4th position, pld played well and did the same job as before, w33 played rly good, ee was playing qop like he is playing am ;-) and misery rly got hudge problems with offlane plays.
The Dark seer was not played good if you compare this to zai plays and the tusk was extremly bad played.

In still believe in misery, he needs more training, a lot more.

In the DS game Misery did his job in every fight, not that it was necessarily particularly hard but anyway he hit his wall always on the Tiny and someone else. I didn't see exactly what happened top to get him killed lvl 1, but other than that he did fine that game imo.

In the Tusk game he was against a pretty tough lane, it's not ease to contest a lane against a Gyro when there's also Naga net to hold you down. It wasn't too surprising that he ended up being very poor, but of course maybe you could expect better play from him in teamfights still. For example I can't recall snowball being used very effectively at all. But that said he was never the Tusk player in c9, I doubt he has much experience yet playing the hero and playing the fights correctly with him when underfarmed isn't the easiest thing.

One thing that maybe Misery has to think about are his item builds. As far as I recall he went bottle on both Tusk and Clock even when he didn't have a very good lane for example. But item builds are also one thing that he will only figure out when he plays heroes more. Other players may do certain things you can copy, but still you also have to gain your own understanding through playing on what is good and when.

In general I didn't really like the way the drafts worked in games 1 and 2. Though my understanding may be a bit off, maybe it could have been better if Secret had played a bit better in the lanes, but anyway in both games they were very restricted on what they could actually do in the game. Game 1 they had a very hard time contesting Alliance at all in fights, and they couldn't really pick important heroes off either until pretty late into the game. Game 2 they had a very hard time protecting their side of the map and getting farm, and Alliance had full control of both jungles for a long time. It was a pretty easy game to just start feeding the game away, I was pretty impressed that they even came back to it. Game 3 on the other hand they could put out a lot of pressure themselves, had good vision due to the Naga and Clock, and they could easily just farm up and initiate fights on their terms.

I suspect his level 1 death was a result of him double/triple ion shelling up and trying to go aggressive thinking that wisp would be with Tiny mid at the start, only for wisp to be top

Is it just me or misery offlane feels underwhelming like he's actually mediocre on the role ? Unlike his support was good idk it's too early to tell with little games they have atm.

Well it has been only 2 series this far, way too early to call. It's true that he hasn't really had a game where he somehow shined alone, but at least he also hasn't been chainfeeding in his lane losing his team the game in the first 10 minutes (bone7 was sometimes known to do this..) We'll see how his performance looks like after October when Secret plays in 3 different LANs

Offlane requires some practice, it's not really something where you can just play 100 pub games and be decent at it, because pub safelanes suck

i would put my money on VP as of the moment since Secret is relatively new

also not sure if misery + ee are the part of old c9 that's the one who made calls in games where they almost went unbeatable against CIS teams .. either ways i'm kinda excited also it's said that even the loser of this match already qualified according to the secret tweet

Puppey is a CIS slayer too.

IDK, I think Secret have a good shot. It's their first "real" test, though.

I thought his support play was more reliably stable than spectacular.

His clock game was solid. He's no Zai though.

Think Envy puppy though is a good foundation.

people were saying that zai was not good at offlane when he first joined secret. give misery some time in the role. the rest of the team have significant prior experience on their roles, other than w33haa i guess, so it's natural for him not to look stellar in comparison. the dude has proven himself in multiple roles before and i don't see any reason for him not to succeed here once he gains some experience

the difference of the "not good" that people are saying with zai is that he wasn't like universe level in which in about a short amount time he was suddenly better than universe. The "not good" of misery is his not so flashy performance and his ughh weird not his usually stable play

idk zai was doing really well at his DAC debut i even remember his puck who had ridiculously high CS at one game during the group stages

He will be given time, you will see at the major

if he doesn't perform at the major very well I can see him getting cut. To win TI5 you need world class players and his offlaning so far hasn't even remotely been world class.

EE has been playing some of the best I have ever seen him play tho.

I don't doubt at all that Misery will improve. To be fair to him he also had very difficult lanes this series, it's obviously far easier to shine when you get off to a reasonable start. Not sure how much experience he can even get from really tough games from scrims as teams may be just trying out random things or Secret may not be always playing against VP etc who really know how to play the safelane. He may just have to learn through struggling a bit in officials and figuring it out.

As far as EE goes imo one big difference compared to c9 is that he is actually given good lanes, the supports use resources to protect him and farm up themselves, and the team doesn't unnecessarily just force things only to start feeding. Compare this to c9 where EE was often handed a very difficult lane with the supports dual laning with bone7 or ganking mid for Fata. If you look at Secret know, they aren't ganking for Misery or w33 really at all early on. Instead the supports have been getting their own levels up or using time to give EE a head start.

dont even think this first major will be very skilled anyway, teams everywhere are still trying out new things and players

the real test for teams will be the winter major

As an interesting note I believe PLD pooled a bottle for EE both games. I was wondering how EE's early item progression was so fast, even when he died on Naga twice pre-radiance, and how PLD with the CM was always so low on net worth even when he had been farming in the jungle all the time.
