My friends and I played a game with the intention of feeding early and mid game. Like walking up to enemy heroes feeding. Our plan was to feed and give them some gold (investing) so that they get ahead in net worth. Then we gank or team fight to "withdraw" our investment with interest. They took our mid rax pretty early and got every rosh. We won a team fight and got a bunch of items out of that. The next team fight we win and just end the game.

This game is completely broken

You would have won if you just played normal too. Your team was much better than your opponent.

The most silly thing I keep reading is that

"the team is punished for getting a lead"

"the team is rewarded for getting behind."

These are just not true. You are still rewarded for getting ahead and you are still punished for getting behind.

It just seems like the team that makes more mistakes is rewarded too much for a team that made less mistakes finally making one, which would be fine if that made the number of mistakes roughly even. But what it looks like is happening is that a couple lategame mistakes are weighted much more heavily than the multitude of mistakes the losing team made to put them in that situation.
It feels like the rubberbanding mechanic actually allows teams that should deserve the loss an opportunity to win. It doesn't punish all mistakes equally and that doesn't seem fair or competitively sound to me. Yeah there's different magnitudes of mistakes but I don't like the fact that a single mistake from a snowballing team is worth about ten from the team getting rolled.

I think Theeban's the only pro I've seen not condemning the entire patch as a failure.

I disagree, they all just gang up on the one good player then get 20 billion gold, it was like that before its just if you die they get so much

So you want games to be decided in the draft and the first 10 minutes 67%-84% of the time? Because that doesn't really sound that great to me.

You're abusing the terminology to arrive at a fallacious argument. Observe: "Teams that are even at the 1 minute mark have a 50% chance of winning the game. So at least half of all games are decided within the first minute."

The problem is that he is staying the change is bad, but isn't addressing the information that shows that games were very one sided before. People have said that the values might need to be changed, but the "come back system" was put in because games because comebacks were very very rare if a team got a good start.

So yes, my statement is hyperbolic, but when you are presented with a problem and the answer is "we shouldn't do anything to address that issue." then you have to ask if they think the problem does not exist.

Nononononono.

I am saying I do not like the change. Me, personally. I'm gonna give it a few weeks, because I trust icefrog to keep the game awesome, but I do not like it as it is right now.

No game or patch or anything will be for everyone, This current patch of dota just ain't for me.

I'm all for comeback mechanics, it makes the game better for the spectator and gives players more reason to play the game out, I just don't see the logic to make assist xp/gold be influenced by the difference in the teams xp/net worth.

Like how is it logical that you should get more xp/gold when you kill say a poor under-leveled CM when her farmed carry is on the other side of the map. I think it's just too drastic a change. I think IceFrog could've simply just utilized the difference in xp/gold of the killers/victims and leave the total team's xp/net worth difference out of the equation.

I'm actually pretty excited for the "Patch Impressions" for 6.82, once some of the upfront negativity at violent changes dies down. It'll be interesting to hear how certain players feel about the patch once they actually start to get a feel for it.
