I mean, with the hugely increased procs rates, manta reduction, and his doppelganger generating more. Escaping from PL looks nigh impossible now with his new passive and lance. Also one of the illusions generated by doppelganger takes 100% damage, rather than 200% or 300%(but it does zero). Which means you can't figure out who is the real one just by hitting them all with an AOE. Its an ability you need to see in action to really get a handle on.

Why do you need a bottle to pick up the bounty rune? If you're including the bottle the value is in all the regen it provides.

Double runes encourage to leave the lane which was a trade of between staying in the lane or taking advantage of a potential rune. Rune areas will be crowded especially in the first 10 to 15 minutes. Also I hated the xp/gold rune, such a cheap idea.

My first idea would be to get vanguard first on melee (you buy stout from starting gold anyway on many heroes) and buckler first on ranged (better buildup as you dont want casual stout shield and leaves you the option to still get mek). edit: This is assuming it's the first item you go for, I believe it will be rarely be worth its money otherwise.

I doubt it is going to be that huge unless some low level supports get the drop of an fat naga. Even when the gold graph is in one team's favor, its never by massive amounts if the other team has any chance of winning a team fight.

But the other team will want to fight if they are that far behind because its all wins for them. Or get a smoke pick off on a core. There is as much reward for the other side as there is risk.

Typically when you're behind you need an advantage like high ground defending to actually win a fight.

Yeah IF is clearly pushing a different playstyle for PL where he just rapidly swarms people with illusions and overpowers them in skirmishes rather than trying to skip out with invis. I wonder if he's actually got too much redundancy in his kit now, though. He already had a ranged slow and would pick up a Diffusal no matter what for an additional slow (and he's even more likely to pick that up with a priority on early fighting, not to mention that it's an even more efficient damage item now with weaker, but more easily generated, illusions). On top of that, he now has two gap-closers (well, Doppelganger is apparently intended as an escape, but I'm not totally sold on how effective it'll be for that). He's almost redundantly good at chasing now.

The point is that while one side might be playing safe because they are ahead, there is a big reward for the other side to try to make something happen. Both sides are not rewarded for being passive.

That's pretty much my only worry. If a team gets far enough ahead they're going to potentially end up playing very safely until the point where they're unassailable. If that becomes the norm... -_-

Naga will still be naga and smoother the enemy team. That play style will always be that way. The patch did not change that. But teams won't be rewarded for farming up other heroes like LD or OD, since there is a risk they could get picked off and dump a big fat pile of gold on the enemy team. I am sure some teams will play super passive while ahead. But other teams might want to press the advantage they have because they don't want to risk a huge comeback. Its really going to depend on style.

I like how they addressed the "Lycan Problem" and all the other changes are also welcome. I especially like the idea of tying BKB duration/cooldown to the player rather than an item. I only wonder if this will make buying new BKB a useless feature now... Jugg spinning inside of chrono or black hole might upset some people. A Jugg tossed spinning midair before crashing in the middle of the enemy team, on the other hand, would make me laugh so hard.
