Since those numbers mean like nothing, I am going to conclude they mean I should drink more during dota to help my win rate.

Got it. While we're at it, let's ignore the trends in which heroes have seen an increase in winrate, and which have moved down the scale, because that doesn't mean anything either. ...Seriously, guys. Everyone's sick of both the "DOTA IS DEAD ICEFROG IS STUPID" just as much as the "ICEFROG IS GOD AND CAN DO NO WRONG". There's no reason to discard information just because you don't like what it's saying.

There's also a more subtle argument he didn't explicitly make that I might have selected the 45-55 line specifically to make my conclusion look stronger. (I didn't, and you can that draw your own line and count yourself to confirm the result) TRAP[yoo]'s implied "not enough data yet" criticism doesn't invalidate the results. The huge sample size means that small differences in win% are statistically significant.

I'm also curious what the impact on average game time / min/max game times has been, this patch. And by association what icefrog/valve would want the average game time to be. @SKC I fully agree, and given how dramatic some of the changes were this patch, it's entirely reasonable to expect this patch to be "more imbalanced". It's the responses that essentially amounted to "No it isnt imbalanced ur stupid" that are annoying.

Meanwhile, Rocketbear stack is nearing the conclusion of a 70 minute game.

I can't find a single 29:xx, so I'm suspicious that for some reason that doesn't show games under 30 minutes. If it is showing every game, then average would be 34ish minutes, yeah. I'd prefer a more reliable source of info for that one, though. Meanwhile, TLIH is nearing the conclusion of a 70 minute game. TLHI is a bad standard for anything, people just fuck around and the skill gap is huge. But yes, games are a bit longer. Also people are blaming the patch sometimes iwthout looking at the team comps. I am watching a Naga/BM game vs Specter and its a farm fest. But those heroes are trash at team fighting and the naga is terrible. Yets its clearly the patches fault. Spectre might be a bit powerful, but people also are REALLY dumb against her in the games I have played.

And I'm not saying that to suggest that average game time is actually 50 minutes or anything. Was mostly a point-of-interest comment. And a maintained 60%+ winrate on a hero is not "a bit powerful". That shit's OP ![]()

People will adjust and figure out how to win games without getting punished, like taking rosh before going high ground even if you have a good lead. Sure, but if you have to take high ground first, there's also risk associated with that. Smoke ganking has an associated risk for both parties. Not teamfighting is a risk. Teamfighting is a risk. Going for a rune is a risk. Not going for a rune is a risk. You're not going to play risk-free dota. You have to take risks at some point. You're just punished a bit harder for it later in the game now than you were before. "Comeback opportunities"

But like all red blooded dota loves, I will fear the naga vs spectre games.

I've found 8/28 so far for matches a week ago, but the Dotabuff site is not built for this sort of query and it's really slow to sample.
