Chinese DotA 2 scene feels in such a bad place right now. Granted what ChuaN said wasn't right at all, but the problem within iG is too big to really ignore. The drama with the Chinese scene is just stupid silly lol.

I cannot remember the last time how bad it was with the EU scene.

On a happy note, glad everything is ok with Na'Vi! Yay ^_^ Lets see how well DK turns out hehe.

I'm sure both scene has their own drama. It's just that the Chinese are more vocal and treat it like nothing. I don't know Chinese but I've seen enough of translated ranting or direct flaming on qq account from the Chinese players. It's just like when they play on LAN you'll see them yelling at each other in front of the crowds and the camera.

Same thing with Xboct after TI3, Korok and Fluff, God and NS but these guys weren't being that vocal about their disagreements/hates. We've seen what happened to Loda and his tweets. The players don't want to get swamped by crazy fans and scare the sponsors away.

100% that Navi will break another 2 teams 5 months before TI4 like they did with mouz and empire.

Realistically teams have 8 months to make roster changes. It may be smart for a team to stay the same and evaluate what they need to beat the gen 4 teams

Hadn't even thought about it but didn't Alliance finalize their roster around the same time? Maybe these early changes and idea of a team getting better with more time together is overrated?

So the new Flipside tactics might be: Mania, Miggel, Fata, Sockscha, Fuckingmad.

Would be a pretty cool team, imo!

I've been saying this since forever.

We have more examples of teams performing right off the gate than we do of teams that gradually increase in performance over time. (discounting first 1-3 months)

Does this mean Alliance won't get better? No. But it means that a team that's 2 months old can surpass them. That's just how Dota is.

Chinese scene needs to either start a weekly cup series or fly to Eastern Europe and bootcamp in Estonia for a month, doing nothing but playing weekly cups, online qualifiers, and training with the West.

Even assuming the 2 scenes are equal when playing their best, it is clear that reshuffling is going to set China back at least a month or two in terms of having a top team. That sort of timeframe will only linger the fewer games teams play in a competitive scenario.

Bootcaming in close proximity to teams like Na'Vi and Alliance (as well as Fnatic, VP, etc.) sounds good in theory but I would be dubious of them getting governmental permission.

And there is the issue. No question the Chinese scene needs a bit of a shake up (although I would argue the roster apocalypse is probably going too far).

But roster shakeup+derth of top level competition (in both scrims and online cups) is gonna set the Chinese scene BACK rather than taking them forward. The question is how long it takes for the reset to run its course.

Didn't ACE's King say they wanted to fly Alliance and Na'Vi to China for three months? Not that I think it's ever going to happen, but that seems to be the plan for Chinese DotA to catch up with the west. (never thought I was going to say that again :D)
