And you can't read lol. They only get free pathing if you hook them onto a "ledge" like where furion cliffjungles from.
Ironically, you did not read and therefore made a stupid statement. Try reading the second to last sentence and realize how dumb it was for you to make your comment.
Um what? The pathing change is just there so you can't troll your own teammates.
If you were in any way correct in your thinking, you'd question why it affects enemies then. If it were really just for anti-trolling, it would affect your own team only and not enemies hooked. I still remain 100% right with my point.
Pudge's hook does not give you the ability to walk up and down any cliffs or ledges (like your 'across the river' complaint seems to suggest you believe.) It only protects you from being hooked into places that Rubick cannot toss people (best way I can easily explain it.)
This is incorrect as you can toss people on the cliffs near the runes or where you tend to cliff farm from.
LMFAO you still can't read. Across the river doesn't let them walk down. It literally only matters when you blink/force yourself up to an unreachable location then hook somebody else there too. In no other situation does this aid the enemy.
You may want to learn the definition of the word "read" because you're getting it confused with "understanding implementation" which is very different. You are also incorrect because as it has already been stated, those locations are no longer places pudge can hide and kill from.
Are you dumb? Rather than allow yourself to be corrected by someone who actually read the patch notes, you just come across as an arrogant ass. The 5 seconds of free pathing, at least according to these patch notes, only occurs if you hook someone to unpathable terrain, i.e. cliffs over runes, or Furion cliff jungling spots, etc. A completely necessary addition now that he can use Blink Dagger, so you can't troll people by hooking them from unreachable locations. According to this wording, any spot you can currently hook from is still possible after this change.
Sorry, you do not remain "100% right" with your point. Try a little humility.
You might take your own advice, as it does not apply to me in the least. Even assuming you are right and it only buffs in that regard, its a bad move to reduce places pudge can be effective especially since he's already a very "niche" hero with a limited window of effectiveness. I like ganking from those jungle ledges and catching people in the river going after runes. You can try to call me names like "arrogant ass" all you want, but it still doesn't change the fact that this patch reduces where pudge can be a killing machine and does so through allowing them to get away from him which is how you avoid him killing you anyways. All this does is show you're an overly-sensitive child pretending to be a reasonable adult. Its not that big a deal to shift-click his ult and still get the kill, but it could be annoying if a lag spike hits you right then or something. Try a little less estrogen in your thinking processes and you might come across better.
@Gheiz Joining a choir of idiots with nonsensical and empty statements only makes you another idiot. Having more of you doesn't somehow change the fact you're all wrong and too dumb to realize its you and not me. I deal with your kind all the time though so no big deal.

You have some issues in talking with people. I literally made this account to tell you how batshit insane you are. I know you only talk to people like this because of the anonymity of the internet, cause I'm pretty sure you would learn pretty quick in the real world to speak with respect. Now please keep pretending to be a hardass while you die a little inside with each keystroke.
On Topic: I really want to see a pro team offlane lich with an enchant feeding him almost timed out big creeps. I'm not sure how much lich effects the game with more levels but it should be an interesting new idea(albeit probably not the best new "combo" from this patch though).
So then let me get this straight, you outright admit that you're creating accounts to circumvent the bans the admins placed on you for doing exactly what you're accusing me of being? I'm not the one who has to go make other accounts to post, breaking the TL forum rules in the process.
I'll wait to see the final results from how this affects hook, but right now its clear that certain situations might be troublesome. I've had multiple admins and pros already coming here to back me up and state that although what I'm mentioning are acknowledged as bugs or problems, they still are there and work as I've described nonetheless.
That being said, just stay on topic and don't try to insult rather than post insight or a point and we'll be fine. Big patches always cause panic until the final product is tried out and released so this is to be expected.
I'm sorry your deductive skills aren't quite as sharp as you think they are. This is my first account on TL after 3 or so years of lurking. You sir with your interesting, personality lets call it(more like a massive egotist but i digress), actually made a normally very lazy person make an account just so I could let you know you should probably take a step back and look how you act.
This will be the last time I address you, but I sincerely hope you recognize all the negativity you've drawn towards yourself just by the way you phase things. You could have been having a normal discussion with these fine people but you insist on talking down. As one poster previously put it: Please learn some humility.

This will also be the last time I address you since this has degraded into something not related at all anymore to the topic at hand. You are unbelievably conceited to think you're in a position to call me anything derogatory and anyone else attempting to do the same were the ones starting the insult slinging long before I stated anything aimed at anyone in particular. I do not need to take any steps back to see how I act, but you certainly do because you're still posting on an alternate account specifically for the purpose of attempting to troll or something. That is against TL rules and there's nothing you can say that will improve your position. The people who initiate the insults are not in a position to tell me I'm the one who was being insulting rather than discussing. You are the ones who need humility and to stop being so over-the-top aggressive when nothing prompts it, not me.
Overall I think these changes are in the right direction but the pudge change is not one of the ones I agree with. The rosh change is a great idea and the general shift in the game will be on becoming more and more team-dependent and less heroes that are capable of just going off on rampages on their own.
Bloodseeker will be interesting to watch because this will affect his "strong period" greatly. As with all massive patches, some look great and others look imba and OP. Only time will tell on the final release whether our assumptions during the preview are accurate or not.
i cant believe an argument actually came out of whether or not pudge can still hook people normally. stupidest discussion ive ever read. of course he can hook people normally. the nerf is supposed to be specifically for cases where a hero is hooked into a spot that would lead him to be trapped. whether the nerf is working as intended is another story. and tbh, in some aspects it is a buff. saving allies is gonna be ezpz now

If we were to look at history it would be on Thursday
Sadly Valve signed the treaty of patches and since that time are allowed to give their patches a name that must go through proper channels but they can release it whenever they want or they make can make hats and decide to sell them nameless
Just for sake of clarity: The "unpathable terrain" are the area at the edge of the map, like on the left and right extension of the river. Places where only flying units like batrider and visage's revenants or units with free pathing(spectre on spectral dagger path) can even walk. You also can't place wards in unpathable areas.
This means every single spot that was named in this discussion is wrong. Especially if the description starts with "the ledge where you put wards". Those are part of the regular combat area.

i'm 100% certain that the ward ledges will give the free pathing

i hope this history lesson was useful
I learned alot, thanks. 9/10 Whould probably read again.
I really like the patch and I like it when they shake up the game sometimes so hopefully Thursday!

I'm going to go with Shaella here and put my money on those ward ledges being considered for the free pathing condition. (The ones inaccessible to by simply cutting down some trees).

Chaos Knight: Chaos Bolt damage and stun values are now inversely related
I think it means that if the damage rolls high on the chaos bolt you get a low duration stun and vice versa. Though it isn't clear exactly how it works, but it should mean you don't get high on both or low on both.
Edit: Apparently it rolls the stun duration and bases that damage off that from the post below.
Well, its a buff to clinkz but since BKB takes off orchid it isn't like this makes clinkz good just somewhat better.
CK now rolls his stun duration then gets the opposite in damage. So low stun duration means high damage. And high Stun duration means low damage. Supposed to make him less random or something, but the issue is that it gets rid of your RNG free kills. (4s and like 300 dmg op nuke sometimes is gone).

Is his stun right now not absolute for the duration? Like for example his Level 1 stun is 1-2 seconds, does that mean it can stun 1.5, 1.65, 1.28, etc., or always just 1 sec or 2 secs?

Or you could just stop being idiots, open the test client, and try it yourself.
Yes, it is the warding spots. It's still more about allies than anything else though because they don't want you trapping allies up there and then not ever letting them down. Enemies is because it fits with the Rubick/DS changes (just like tiny will be fixed eventually as well).
the stun is a whole nubmer value (1, 2, 3, 4). I'm assuming the damage will now be one of a set number of certain possible values based on the stun number.

Hmmm.. I really want to know those values now. Kinda odd they didn't post it up with the update notes. Perhaps it might look like this:
