I also, am new to HC, and i really love it! I played SC from start with my fav character, the wizard. Got to 60 fast, and when paragon got introduced i played to lvl 11, but lost interest due to the auctionhouses and grind that felt meaningless without more gold. Started Hardcore 1 month ago, play a monk tank with a friend wizard, and we are just about to kill diablo in normal. both are level 31. Then I have a backup wizard at level 24 (incase i die with the monk) and a level 26 demon hunter, wich i enjoy solo. To all who lost interest in SC d3, try out the HC, its the best! | ||

Gearing up at 60 for the first time is a daunting endeavor after such a long layoff. Part of me wants to blow it all on a super expensive end-game item, but practicality dictates that I'm going to be a weenie and spread the wealth to all the different slots. I forgot how expensive and crucial it gets to start gearing up with All Resistance! Gonna go check out the EHP calculator now. Hopefully my Witch Doctor 'OHLOOKATITGO' has a long and prosperous future before she bites the dust. | ||

Once you would receive fatal damage you simply get set to 30% hp (and all mobs get knocked back. not sure what WD does.) edit: you never get to see the "you have died" screen once it triggers. You simply get a debuff. If that's what you wanted to know. | ||

When you die, you instantly break all controlling effects (jail, frozen etc), gain movement speed, and are invincible for 2 seconds, plus gain 15% of your maximum health. This gives you a great opportunity to run around and look for health globes, retreat, or use that 2 seconds to put out some DPS to get some life-steal and heal yourself. | ||
