Just how bad is botting in D3? We're all fairly sure that tons of gold is being produced by bots, but what actual statistics are there to go on? I'm sure Blizzard knows, but they're not going to tell us. People cite the massive deflation in item value in the past few weeks, but couldn't that just be due to the drop table changes for A1/A2 leading to a completely different distribution of items for sale, one that is more skewed toward better items?

True, it's still very possible to do this. I've made some money doing this too. But playing Sims 3 is more fun. And for that to be the best way to 'level' up says a lot to me.

What items do you guys look for to flip? I've been doing a bit of it but it's hard to really look for items with the intent of finding underpriced ones to resell. So far my best was buying a crit damage+socket 1H for 30k and reselling for 1.5m, or buying an unsocketed 110 dex +discipline 3 open socket DH cloak for 700k socketing it with flawless square emeralds and reselling for 2m

Just keep doing what you understand the most. And you gotta research it yourself cuz not many want to share their secrets

The best I've done in terms of flat profit (not rate of return) is buy for 5M, and sell for 30M.
The funniest I've done is buy for 600k and sell for 550k ... Not sounding so good right? But here's the catch, the item was socketed and had a Flawless Star Ruby in it worth ~2M. Laughed my ass off when I saw this item for sale, haha.

Lol these are the best, and I've done it a few times myself, although not with that nice of a gem in them.
As for the guy who wanted tips....I don't really look for things to flip. I just go bargain hunting for my monk upgrades, more or less, and snap up anything i find that is underpriced. The thing about most great deals is that you have to be able to recognize them almost instantly, and doing that takes time. Some things are obvious, like finding a socketed item with a huge gem selling for less than the gem is actually worth, but even then, you have to know what the gem is actually worth to begin with. For the most part, you have to understand a class or piece of equipment pretty well to be able to instantly recognize deals. A big reason for this is the 3 search limit. For example, searching for gloves with 150 dex, 80 vit, 60 AR, you can find them all over the place, in all kinds of price ranges from under a hundred thousand to millions. You start at the bottom, checking everything 1 day 11/12 hrs. Maybe it'll be your lucky day and you see one at the bottom with 177 dex, 87 vit, 68 AR......50 lightning resist, 3.5% crit chance. The "comparable stats", or, basically what you entered in the search options make it seem reasonably priced compared to the others around it, but you have to know instantly that those extra two attributes make it worth many times above the other gloves around it are worth, that don't have those attributes. I use gloves as an example....because the chances of you finding gloves like that is VERY small, because most people actually would search for dex, AR, and crit chance on gloves. But the same principles applies to many items. Things like sockets and legendaries make it all even more complicated, because it's a lot more variable. I will tell you that things with a main stat, gold find in the 20s, magic find >15, and +gold/globe pickup radius is a thing, and they sell for much more than you would think. I don't usually shop for that stuff, and am not an expert on specific pricing, but i do know if you're crafting and a roll comes up with those attributes, DO NOT SALVAGE. A pair of gloves with the attributes i named might seem worthless, but I sold a pair for 700k in minutes, so I probably underpriced it a decent bit.

Isn't 1360 dmg + 8 % bonus to elites pretty high damage? I don't play DH but it seems like its high...

Let's say you have two items with 2,5% each, that's 5% total. And your dps is 150k. In inferno this translates to:
150000*0,05*0,2=1500 life per second.
And additionally if you have 800 loh, and 2 attacks per second you have a total of 1500+(2*800) = 3100 hp/sec. This is kinda nice, don't you think? Healing 30k hp in 10 seconds?
The life steal is only good if you have a fuckton of DPS. That's why I would only value life steal on high-end equipment...Like that crossbow...

The only thing has life steal is weapon, and it's a 2h xbow so you can only carry 1. Also if u can get to 150k dps raw w/o SS, you resist probably under 100, so you're most def. glass cannon. There's no point of getting LoH, even against reflect damage all you need is gloom.

It's not like you gimp defensive stats just to get higher dps, there is more than enough room on items to have top end dps and high defensive stats. You'll pay through the teeth for it in the AH, but this is a thread about the AH, and that accounts for the higher cost. dmg to life is a really good stat for DH on a weapon-- it doesn't always get valued properly in the AH, but it's a good stat.

I flipped Inna's Glory from 210k to 600k (510k after tax) with ~140 vit... Sold fast too. First flip more than a few thousand, although I also flipped some gloves from 10k to 30k.
