I just upgraded my chest yesterday for 20m, so now I have no money - any upgrades I get won't be for a while at least. Just wondering what bits of gear you think are weakest. http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Hairy-1750/hero/2281818 I would say gloves and helm are the weakest. I think you can drop vit on gloves since your vit is already quite high. I'm really not a fan of Andy's. It gives a nice boost in DPS but that extra fire damage taken is so annoying and the fact that yours doesn't have a socket IMO is a big minus. I think a switch to IK helm (or if you're super rich a mempo) would do wonders for your survivability which would then open up other slots for more offensive pieces.

Does any1 have item suggestions for me? thx my armory I think the overall problem you'll run into with your gear in the future stems primarily from the chest. Because you're running Tyrael's without sockets or vit, you're essentially trading ~200 stat points (compared to say an IK chest) for the 12% movespeed and you've made up the stats on other pieces of gear. When you start looking for upgrades on those other pieces of gear (for example upgrading your offhand which has quite nice stats but low dps and no socket) it will be very very difficult to maintain the same level of stats while gaining more dps and a socket.
This was a problem I had when I was using Tyrael's before, I eventually just coughed up the gold for IK + Lacuni's but I think Tyrael's is unique enough where if you can get a really nice one with better stats you can make it work.

Profile If you aren't too attached to the MF on the amulet (and you shouldn't be), you could easily get a better amulet with more stats (which is what you're low on) that would considerably boost your dps. That wouldn't get you to over 100k dps but it's the single piece that would probably give you the biggest boost currently.
You need to overall upgrade your str/vit and AR. Some things you could do are: 1) Get boots with AR (like say IK boots) and then drop AR on amulet for one with much better stats and crit. It's ok to get a minor dps loss from the boots because you'll gain major survivability and the improved amulet will more than make up that loss in dps. 2) Get a better dps mainhand (with socket and preferably some stats, getting lifesteal on it would be nice but probably too expensive) and drop the LoH. Since you already have 5% lifesteal and 900 LoH, it should be enough sustain already. 3) Upgrade those gems

Upgraded my ammy ty sir Found a nice str, super high vit one with cc and cd. It happened to have mf as a bonus but i was not looking for it.

Thank you Arc_man for giving me some advice for some upgrades. I will look into upgrading the gear you provide this week .

The attack speed on gloves is worth the equivalent of ~130 strength for my current stats; when I was searching for directly better gloves, or gloves with equivalent stats using crit damage or raw strength etc, anything that wasn't simply a sidegrade seemed to be 30m+ minimum.

I did pick up +140 fire resistance from random pieces of gear to alleviate that issue, but you're probably right. I suppose if I were to swap my gloves for "trifecta" ones, and sacrificed the AR, I could make up that defense with a different helm.....
My worry is that I'm just swapping stats around, and won't really end up at a net gain. All gear improvements are very expensive now, and any mistakes will be very expensive mistakes (hence why I was asking here for advice). I guess I'll need to plan any future upgrades very carefully.

Thanks Arc_man, I had a feeling it was about time I traded tyraels for ik+lacunis. It's just those strongarm bracers are so sweet

Swap 'Tough as Nails' for 'Nerves of Steel' (counter-intuitively it should actually give you more armour), Superstition, or Bloodthirst for another 3% lifesteal. Experiment! I'd also swap Overpower-Killing Spree for either the 'Crushing Advance' rune, or swap it out entirely for War Cry (it still gives substantial extra protection).
As far as you gear goes, everything overall looks to be about the same quality except from your chestpiece which sticks out like a sore thumb. You should be able to get one with substantially more stats for relatively cheaply.

Now that they reduced the damage output of all the MP levels, there's less use for my sword and board barb. I want to change for a DPS build, but i'm not yet entirely sure on which build to pick. I'm leaning towards WW/Sprint. For that build what should I prioritize if i want to change to a WW build?
http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/bObaS-2498/hero/16528314
Btw i Also have a Bul Kathos Warrior Blood with 1040 DPS, 92% Crit and 10% Attack Speed, if that changes anything.

You'll need a bit more crit and a way to stay alive; you currently have no LOH, and no lifesteal. As you are high-DPS already, the good news is that you can ignore LOH and just use lifesteal! LOH is very, very inefficient for ww/sprint now after the nerf.
Gear changes:
- I'd replace your necklace with a DPS-orientated one with high crit chance. You can afford to comfortably lose ALL the health there, so just go for maximum damage! High crit chance for your new neck is important because the ww/sprint maintains its fury via the 'into the fray' rune, so the higher your crit the better
- Lifesteal. You'll want to get a lifesteal belt. An offhand weapon really should have lifesteal too, which means you may want to sell your Bul Kathos and get something else. 6% lifesteal should maintain your health with your gear/DPS.
- Movement speed. You currently have none; 12% I would consider a minimum, but 24% really is the way to go.
Most people are unaware, but the ww/sprint build can actually be used with a shield. Go get a 3% belt, 12% movement boots, and just give it a try! Continue changing the rest of your gear if it's something you find enjoyable.

Just picked up diablo again and im totally clueless on what to get now ( i stopped playing right after 1.03 ) i can go through all the acts on mp0 atleast, but didnt try any other mp . What bugs me out is i take forever to kill stuff. i have around 1,2 mill so not much room for big buys i guess :/
Would be nice if you could give me an overview on what stuff i need to replace

I have been experimenting a bit with different ww builds and this one seems to work best.
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#chRkPU!ZYh!aZYccZ
Basically you replace your fury generator with the unforgiving passive, which is now enough to get you started in a reasonable amount of time and use the extra skill slot for rend. Make sure to get about 6% lifeleech on gear and with rend that's more than enough for your healing needs at ~100k dps unbuffed.
My decentish gear (no piece cost me more than 10 mill) allows me to comfortably and effectively farm mp7 now, mp8-10 is playable but takes too long for my taste.

So I spent about 60m on upgrades last night. I decided to just stick with the 3 piece IK set I already had instead of buying the chest and boots to complete it. Wouldn't ya know it on my first mf run with my wd today I find an IK chest piece! So I just spent another 30m upgrading a few odds and ends and some gems. But I now have full IK and I only ever bought the helm and boots! Now time to sit and wait for all my auctions to finish so I can once again have money :p

Hey how do you guys deal with banelings next to doors?
When I'm doing my keep 2 run, it's happened a few times now where I go through a door and BOOM i just die because a bunch of banelings killed me. It's not even like I can see them through the door.
Are you guys just careful about hitting doors with bash instead of ww'ing through?

Are you guys just careful about hitting doors with bash instead of ww'ing through? 90% of the time you just whirlwind straight through the door and everything is just fab. However, you actually CAN see them through the door - when they are 'activated', and camping the door (like the jerks they are), the door will kind of "glow", because the glow from the banelings shines through. It's not hugely obvious, but once you know what you're looking for it's easily recognisable.
Those doors I very carefully sprint near, so that the tornado opens the door for me and I'm somewhere else!
|
The only time banelings give me trouble is if I am too careful with them. I realize that sounds backwards but I've found that if you sprint/ww through them (and continue past), they get hung up on your tornadoes and die while you are 40 yards away engaging other enemies. Try being overly aggressive with them and see how it goes - it works great for me.

What's a good build for a poor barb? I'm not 60 yet but I want to plan for the future
|
Putting my barb up for scrutiny, as I'm not really sure what I should focus on upgrading next:
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Xasz-1132/hero/15709174
I have another amulet which is much better raw dps (~240str and 50% crit dmg), but I'm liking the MF/GF on this one currently. Obviously my boots are pretty bad, but I'm not sure if this is where I should start upgrading.
I'm sitting on about 20m currently and not quite sure what I'm looking for. Right now I'm farming MP5 without too much trouble.
Edit: my build is probably pretty dated as well, I just modified my prepatch build until it worked. Any suggestions there are also appreciated.
