Thanks. I just geared my recently turned 60 HC WD so it only has 30k dps, so I'll get LoH. At what DPS, would LS become the better spec?

are there any wd players left on TL?
|
yup
|
WD is my goto char to farm (HC)
|
I take my WD out for some disco every now and then.

I started playing d3 hc again when 1.0.8 hit (stopped b4 paragon patch) and after leveling and sacrifing a 5x barb, i decided to pick up my 60 wd again. But some budget items from the ~7mil i had left and had some lucky drops and have about 70 mil in the bank now. Question is what to upgrade next. I think i should go for another zuni set piece, probably ring or chest or should i cut some edges and get both? Since crit chance zuni rings are way out of my league, what stats should i go for? LoH, xx-xx dam or the cheapest with high int? Same question goes basically for the chest since high vit is also way outta my league. Char: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/kev-2245/hero/19283005
thanks in advance!

i got a 42 sc wd at the moment, only class i havent gotten to 60... and damn is wd so much more fun than dh or wizard

Looking for a little advice from high MP WDs out there. Im farming MP5 and I feel like ive hit a a bit of a glass ceiling. Heres my gear and current set up: + Show Spoiler + I failed at image sizing, i suggest you open them in new tabs... + Show Spoiler +
Should i lose some durability in favour of damage? MP6+ feels like it takes too long to kill everything.. Bracers could probably be upgraded, but i cant afford to lose the pick up radius (dont want to have 0!) so crafting intel bracers with pick up + crit + other goodies aint easy yo.
|
I feel like your entire spec and gear choices don't make a lot of sense, so I suppose I'll let someone who understands what you're trying to do critique instead..?
Namely: - 0% movespeed? - stacking ias and using ice climbers instead of 4 p zuni and low ias for mana reasons? - using acid cloud at mid mp? - very strange passives?
Could you or someone knowledgeable explain what this spec is trying to do as opposed to GI/GF/low aspd/high pickup/bears spec?
|
basically... + Show Spoiler +
I haven't really followed any sort of build so i understand if im geared completely 'wrong'. open to all and any suggestions.
I was using acid cloud for the great proc on LoH and Fear but it does seem less useful now. should i straight up replace it with bears and have an extra skill?
4p zuni is the way to go? should i replace mempho or ice climbers?

Im in the same boat DhakhaR. I quit playing D3 about 2 months after its release, having zombiebear as my specc of choice with a lot of armor. Think I had about 30-40k dps only. I have no idea how patches has changed the game, so Im quite clueless. Where do you even begin in the sea of information. Both gear and spec working together, and many spec will perhaps only work if you have a certain level of stats required for the spec to work. And I also have to keep in mind if this spec is outdated or would be seen as a handicap compared to the new cookiecutters out there that would speed leveling up by a ton, also inferno has levels now, so I yes, lots of shit to digest lol.
Any advice on where to read about the current status on what to build of gear and spec? What would be a nice place to start with 10mill, to get you going? When I quit, there was guides clearing inferno with just 200k gold of AH gear lol, think it was a monk or barb that time.

http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5644164388 A guide with builds. EU WD forums are really active btw.
Short 'omgwtf how do I WD?' by me.
stats are very simple, get as much as poosible. int vit AR crit dmg/chance
Gear: Craft gloves, shoulders, bracer and amulet ---- they are just so good. skorn with LS ---- much cheaper then equally good 1h+mojo, and cost effective mana-use. 4p zuni(helm, chest, ring and boots) ---- good bonus' and good stats.
This leaves you with a ring spot and the pants. Crit dmg/chance on ring and as high stats as possible on the pantalones.
Builds: Choose zombie bears, cloud of bats or both. With bats you stand there and tank. WIth bears you have to aim. Personally I use both. To counter low resource regen we choose to hit slow, but hard. Skorn is excellent in this case and gives us much more LS then a 1h would. The lack of frog mojo forces one to get pick-up radius elsewhere. The reason we want pick-up is to grab globes. But more importantly in higher mp we want to extend GI so it reduces the cooldown of Voodoo, mass hallucination, SW etc etc. WD have excellent dmg buffs and they should be used as much as possible.
summary: Trash mobs are only there to proc LS and reduce CDs. Thats all they are. You want to pack the mobs/elites as tighly as possible and nuke them with bears/bats while standing in voodoo, hallu;paranoia and maybe hex, jinx the elites.
If you cant kill an elite before you run out of mana. Then its too high of a MP for your dmg/mana ratio. If you cant kill an elite because it hurts you too much. First take a look at your passives if you have room for Jungle Fortitude. Secondly, think about your approach on the mobs, could you bring more trash mobs to the fight? Should you use jinx or paranoia?(use both if possible)
glhf WDs are awesome :D

good stuff.
to add to this, here is my 'budget' wd: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/BlackXistenZ-2929/hero/27317449
can easily farm mp8 act1. i spent about 200mil on this one, so it should be quite affordable.
edit: dont get fooled by the low dps number! due to the slow attack speed, the lacking cd on the amu (no crafting luck so far) and the soj, it is quite inflated downwards, but my cast sustain and the bonus vs elites on the soj make up for it.

Cheers wakadodo :D http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/crippen-2563/hero/1695717
I just bought the most essential, I have no paragon or MP yet, so I'll see how this gear holds up, and tbh I haven't even checked my own stuff. Only had about 3-4mill to spend. Damn these traits and abilites are awesome, it wasn't like this when I left my WD, then it was horrible VQ with spamming 4 abilites on CD all the time, and I still have that habit hehe.
If you see any apparent lack let me know. I think maybe Globe radius should be increased a bit as the guide you linked recommended 20, I have only 7. My problem right now is that I dont even know the AH and its prices, or what kind of stuff sells or not, I think that is the learning curve I need to take on. That is part of the fun, when it drop gears you know sells for a lot.
Black Gun, how is 200mill quite affordable lol? Did prices change a lot?

yes, 200mil for a whole char is budget by today's standards. well-geared chars nowadays look at a 100-200m pricetag for (substantially) improving a single gearslot. true highend chars look at several bil for each significant upgrade of a single gearslot.

After reading a bit on MP, and I still feel a little clueless regarding it, even after reading the spreadsheet. What would you recommend me going? I need paragon, and I need an item that can grant me some millions for a new upgrade. Any MP you would recommend me going?
|
crappen, farm whichever monster power you can play at where you can speedily smash through enemies, even if that means playing MP1. If it takes much more than 1 tank of mana to kill an elite pack then your MP is probably too high. (obviously there are exceptions to this; extra health, fast, teleport and fast enemies may take longer to kill, but speed is king) Youre much better off killing many enemies at a lightening speed for less XP and MF per kill than fewer enemies at a slow rate for more XP and MF per kill. You will get more XP and items per hour this way and killing enemies fast is vital for your Grave Injustice/Gruesome Feast
If you dont have a farming route set up, a popular one is: Act 3, start at 'Kill Azmodan' waypoint then go.. Core of Arreat, head right until you reach the end. Tower of the Damned lvl1, head in a circle until you find the portal again Arreat Crater lvl2, head right and clear the zone Keep Depths 2 (head to keep depths 1 and go through the door next to the portal), clear the zone.
after those people like to do Rakkis crossing and clear the Fields of Slaughter, but I prefer to head to Stonefort and find the keywarden, depends if you're interested in the keys though.
As for your gear it seems ok for your position. keep crafting shoulders (or buy a Vile Ward if you can find a decent cheap one) and craft or buy gloves with crit chance and crit damage.

Once you don't die horribly to melee mobs at your current MP level of choice poison bats bats + grasp is pretty insane, After getting tired of aiming bears hugging walls it feels awesome to give 0 fucks about where you are standing.
You basically set up a kill zone in front of you and every trash mob crawls into your poisonous breath that ticks for 550ish weapon damage.
