if you have low crit chance, then sure you can use a yellow hellion xbow, but tbh nothing is going to beat out a double socket manticore for me with 57% crit chance.

Keep in mind that if you're not going for 2 sockets it's better to get a physical damage rare than a Manticore with the same stats. The pro's are full bonuses from SoJ and Inna's belt.

I think I actually quoted the wrong post there...

My point was that Manticores don't have an inflated price point, and that buying one is entirely dependent on budget and the DPS you get out of it. Generalized statements like "Manticores are worse than Rares" basically fall flat depending on what's on the AH at any given time, and depending on what someone's current gear is.

there's only two options for belt, witching hour and/or inna's, so if you have manticore, witching is better, if you have inna's a rare physical dmg bow is going to be better.

tbh i think its about the same, everyone should be runing 24% moveemnt speed and there's realy only two ways to go about it inna's or lacuni + crit.

i'm pretty sure if you total the price points together the rare + inna's combo is cheaper, not sure about max dps capabilties.

Natalya's mark doesn't drop anymore, but one with crit and crit dmg would be priceless.

As a gearing up demon hunter, would it be better to aim for the legacy nat's set for the OP 4 piece or get the new set for the extra stats? I haven't had too many disc problems yet but it is really annoying when you run out and die because of it.

The new one can roll a little better, is going to be cheaper, and easier to get.

The old one really isn't as batshit OP anymore just because new gear has really overtaken it as far as range of stats. That might change with PvP, but disc really isn't as mandatory anymore.

Is Stone of Jordan still worth it? I understand Nat's reflection is mandatory if you want 4pce, and with Hellfire that leaves no room for it (though the +10 disc kind of makes up for the lack of +20). Is +20-30% damage vs elites better than crit chance+damage+dex?

depends on your playstyle imo. I like farming lower monster powers (1~2) with speed, so I dropped it but its better if you like doing ubers and higher mp

i use soj for ubers runs or monster level > 5 runs. otherwise i don't use it. the max disc is nice for higher levels too, hainvg 80 disc is just fucking sexy.

So I've found a way to use hungering arrow and evasive fire together, sortof.

I'm sure I'm not the first to think of this, but I've been using an unlimited hatred build to some success.
Using devouring arrow main and loaded for bear right click.
Multishot: Suppression fire - This fills the role of evasive fire, near instant hit, even better aoe, restores disc
Preparation: Punishment - No cooldown, restores all hatred for 25 disc; Use this in conjuction w/ multishot for tons of disc/hatred.
Shadow Power: Night Bane - More hatred, more hatred = more disc
Bat - More hatred
For passives vengeance(more hatred) with your standard archery and steady aim; you could sacrifice archery for nightstalker for near unlimited hatred/disc.

Hatred regen on gear will also help.

So I get the best of both worlds, single target when I need single target, aoe when I need aoe, and with 50 disc I can unload 12 consecutive cluster arrows for burst dps when need be.

Edit - Oh also I swap bat for Marked for Death: Mortal Enemy in group play.

Serum, your build doesn't have any defensive discipline abilities. How do you survive reflect damage mobs without gloom or smokescreen? That is a lot of consecutive cluster arrows though.

I've tried playing around with strafe and it actually has a pretty satisfying feel to it. You can use Shadow power(gloom) while strafing and with vengeance and bat you can sustain it as long as there are enough mobs around. It isn't amazing damage so I open up with ball lightning and then strafe through to finish them off and keep running. It also ignores unit collision so if you get walled in you can just gloom and strafe through. The main problems with it are it isn't a true AOE, so if there are tons of mobs you don't clean them up fast enough, and Jailer shuts it down pretty bad since it interrupts and prevents you from using it (i wish it just held you in place...). the other issue is only the first click can proc the hellfire ring (like rapid fire). But if you are farming paragon levels and can 1-2shot most whites it's really fast, a lot less stutter stepping and more just running (I use the 100% movespeed on strafe).

I haven't found a build I like for single target/ubers yet... I've tried cluster arrow and impale and I probably prefer cluster arrow. What have you guys been using for the uber fight at higher MPs?

Yeah, I use shadow power for defensive purposes and rd. I'll still sometimes use gloom, like when doing high lvl ubers, instead of night bane.

If you use a calamity; does the mark of death from the calamity stack on top of the your normal mark of death skill?
