skills vault - tumble ss- fog prep mark/ stun traps
hungering - devouring arrow impale - the one /w extra crit damage
I remember there was advice in this thread but don't really wanna tread through 100+ pages. thanks
Can you survive a hit with both gloom (65% redux) and turret (20% redux) up? Try it, if so then you can burst him down. If not, get Night Stalker and make a run for it until they despawn. This is however very frustrating, I had to do this before I went the resist all route, you will need to time it so you are insta ready to SS out when he spawns a shadow clone (at 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%) or you get oneshot. However, even if you do it right, there is still a chance the clone will oneshot you from offscreen, so you need some luck here, and on top of that it makes diablo a real pain when you need to keep running because he will teleport to your position. But if you can manage it, then you are in because P1 and P3 you cannot go wrong if you do the mechanics right as he can't hit you.

That and perhaps with Nat's set, then you can be in Gloom forever. Actually with Nat's set, it's already doable, since you regen 9 discipline while Gloom is active, so you're only really losing 5 discipline. And if you have the usual 50 max, you can do that at least 10 times, and still have preparation too. So that's at least 60 seconds already....
Crit chance/dmg along with a balance of atk speed (which was nerfed of course) and dex is the primary way of increasing your DPS. When I beat inferno, I had 37.5% crit chance with something like 180% crit dmg. Not the best, but I wouldn't bother with atk speed unless on your quiver - as they weren't nerfed.
So I just found a new cloak which I thought was surprisingly good for being ilvl 60... it has more dex/vit than my current armor and also some hatred regeneration, but it's missing the 480 life regeneration which I really like because I can survive some hits and heal up (really good when kiting elites especially vs reflect dmg). I have about 30k DPS, 150% crit dmg, 25k life. Which one is better?
Nah man you missed my point, I was talking about the life regeneration. I have 420 cold res but any res is just a bonus really, and I don't use discipline heavy skills, just caltrops.

Depends on what build you're using. For example, I have no attack speed on any of my gear except gloves and quiver since I use cluster arrow as my right click. For people using spammier attacks like elemental arrow, then attack speed is a legitimate dps booster and shouldn't be overlooked.

watch the minimap and if diablo ever disappears, you have to time your SS perfectly. As someone stated above, if you can tank a hit with gloom, then that gives you a bigger window (3 seconds). Some people had success with rain of vengeance (the one that stuns).

i would look for a chest with +disc, it is so nice to have.
i would always look for +disc on quiver and chest, having an extra SS per prep is amazing, especially if you use tactical advantage.
It seems not many ppl will agree with me, but I've come to find +max disc is overrated. I long ago swapped to better, cheaper gear w/o the max disc and even with only 30 disc it is extremely rare I die because I didn't have enough disclipine. So much so that I think I'm going to switch preparation to the hatred restore or something else while farming like either the ferret or mark of death. DPS > disclipine.
Yep... I don't even use smoke screen cause I only see it being useful when you're getting trapped by jailers, but Blizzard is going to stop that soon anyway. Instead I use an all offensive hatred build with the bat companion and if anyone gets close I just impale. I just found that dealing more damage and killing off elites one by one makes me survive better. Spike traps especially is invaluable but I don't see many players using them for some reason.

Definitely do not agree with you at all. Disc is the most important resource. DPS is important too obviously, but there are just some champs you need the +20 disc (chest and quiver). +20 disc = +40 after preparation, that gives you so many more seconds to escape from tight situations. All the dps in the world doesn't help you against a champ phasebeast pack w/ teleport and fast.

LoH hit builds don't work with 2h bows/xbows. I have a 900 LoH bow I use for reflect mobs and because my dps is so damn high I still lose life rapidly. Some people go double 1h xbow both with LoH and Crit Dmg, but the dps is a bit lower.

Problem is LoH doesn't scale with damage.
yea i was thinking the same--2 1handers with innate loh and a socket for crit. good attack speed and nice loh...not sure if it works tho.. wanna see if anyone is actually running such a build successfully.. and what builds?

Life on hit is very good with the right build, and you make up for the lack of scaling by using skills that proc a lot (chakram with shuriken cloud, grenades, caltrops, etc) and also make it up with the fast attack speed of 1 handers.

mango what's ur advice on a 2 1 hand loh build?
depends on your goal in the game. I think it's a fun build that is definitely viable (in that you can beat the game with it). However, if your goal is to do max dps, or farm fast/efficiently, probably not the build to use. I don't have any specific advice since I only dabbled in it. You need a whole different set of gear for it (high resist/hp/armor/loh/etc). You can probably google youtube videos that explain it better, but the basic skill setup seems to be: caltrop+jagged edge and chakram+shuriken cloud for aoe proc damage, gas grenades for aoe loh/hatred generation as left click, some kind of hatred spender dps skill for right click (cluster arrow usually). Gloom for damage reduction, some people use sentry turret for additional DR, and Prep.
