The WoW comparisons are getting funny. I played both D2 and WoW extensively and thought that a lot of the WoW sets borrowed ideas from D2. D2 items were rediculous looking. Even a "properly" geared cold sorc with quilted armor and so on would still wear a giant blue gothic style plate helmet and really low level red plate gloves. If the item is amazing it won't matter what it looks like. People will recognize it and know you are powerful. That's what items are really for.

lol @ wizard. A bit too androgynous... I guess some people like to play these kinds of characters though.

Most of the witch doctors -- Pretty cool. Best I liked for melee were actually on monk.

Very impressive, very sexy. That's just because of the coloring. Once they start adding in blue, green and orange, you'll get the WoW tingle back.

The monk's look good. The thighs, arms and other parts of the body are still mostly covered in cloth with the plates limited to the greaves, chest and only a little on the arms. The 4 non-barbarian classes are more suited to light armor from the way they play and their theme. The monk sets look appropriate. The barbarian sets are awesome. It seems almost all the armor for all 5 classes were designed for barbarians. The witch doctor sets look good, too. And I'm on the "no to big shoulders" club, too. Never liked them in WoW and I don't like them here.

But when I look at those 6 Barbarian sets, I'm seeing 2 Deathknights, one Warrior tank, one Samurai, and two Paladins. I'm not seeing any Barbarians. I'm looking for something with more of a Viking feel.

WoW armor sets are all skin tight jumpsuits with a different texture palette thrown in. Hopefully with a lower player count and newer technology volumetric armor is not too much to ask for.
