Some of those look really good, others ... I can't really tell what class is under the suit of armor. Particularly one of the Wizard's looks like they took an armor set for the Paladin class in WoW and imported it directed on top of her. Overall I feel there are too many similarities with how armor sets in WoW look. Most just don't look "Diablo" to me.
Not entirely sure who at Blizzard decided that everyone in every Blizzard game should wear HUGE PAULDRONS on their shoulders, but it started in WoW and is slowly infecting SC (just look at BW vs SC2 marine artwork) and Diablo.
Huge shoulders are not cool >_>
Other than the shoulder armor I don't mind most of these, some of the barbarian sets are pretty badass. The Wizard sets are perhaps a little to armor-y and not robe-y enough for me but oh well, I'll get used to that. Everything but the shoulders...

Eh, Warhammer 40K did huge-ass pauldrons waaaaaaaay before WoW and SC2. Plus, I think Warcraft 3 had some rather large pauldrons.
Anyways, interesting art direction. I'm not very familiar with D1 and D2 art styles as I only recently began playing them, but I think D3's art direction seems to be acceptable. It's more detailed and less stylistic compared to WoW, and the colors on many of the armor sets look less bright compared to WoW armor. However, D3 probably shares a lot of the artists with WoW and other games, so the similar art styles can be expected as it's kinda hard to create so many armor styles in so many different games.
I have never been a fan of how most artist design uber equipment. An outfit should have a focus and compliments. All this armor is just 'super cool' thrown in together, but it makes it an eye sore.

Im sure even the artists are unhappy in the end with half the stuff they make. They have a tough job of having to make the new stuff seem cooler than the last cool stuff they made. Stuffs gonna get garish after awhile...
Don't think they're fake, I've seen them reported on incgamers also. They were datamined I guess.
Did someone else get the urge to stand up and yell: "We are, V-R, troopers!" Or "Decepticons, ATTACK!"? Can't say anything about these now, have to see them in the real D3 engine and environment first.
all i could think of that whole video, was, my god, the music is so in your face, all the time, terrible idea blizzard, cman, how can i sit there and look at my gear when theres no tristram soft atmospheric music. but seriously now, sick looking armor lol
Demon Hunter sets are the best looking, Can't make my mind up if i want to play Wizard or DH. If only there was somewhere to play before the game was released *hint* *hint* + Show Spoiler +
Considering the Sorc set from D2 was a purple plate armor (Tal's chest was derived from a rare drop of Laquered Plate) with a large metal demon mask... everything seems to be about the same.
The WoW comparisons are getting funny. I played both D2 and WoW extensively and thought that a lot of the WoW sets borrowed ideas from D2. D2 items were rediculous looking. Even a "properly" geared cold sorc with quilted armor and so on would still wear a giant blue gothic style plate helmet and really low level red plate gloves. If the item is amazing it won't matter what it looks like. People will recognize it and know you are powerful. That's what items are really for.
Honestly, to the people that are like "ew WoW gear in my D3", these sets look 100x better than 99% of what's come out of WoW in the past few years hands down. Very impressive, very sexy.

That's just because of the coloring. Once they start adding in blue, green and orange, you'll get the WoW tingle back.
I've never been a fan of plate on archer/spellcaster type classes. It's one thing if its a D&D type cleric that's meant to be in melee but the wizard and demon hunter aren't melee hybrids. I dislike the wizard's and demon hunter's sets. It's too anime-like, garish looking and has too much plate. Too many spikes and other crap, too. It doesn't give the feel of wizard or demon hunter (archer type class) at all. I hope there are endgame leather armor for these classes like in Diablo 2.
The monk's look good. The thighs, arms and other parts of the body are still mostly covered in cloth with the plates limited to the greaves, chest and only a little on the arms. The 4 non-barbarian classes are more suited to light armor from the way they play and their theme. The monk sets look appropriate.
The barbarian sets are awesome. It seems almost all the armor for all 5 classes were designed for barbarians. The witch doctor sets look good, too.
And I'm on the "no to big shoulders" club, too. Never liked them in WoW and I don't like them here.
I agree that a lot of them have this World of Warcraft over-the-top and way too "busy" look to them, but some of them are pretty good. What bothers me most is the gigantic single-handed weapons like the axes they were holding....
They looks very good , but imo this is fake, fake "looking" good . Yes they fit very good to the game , but some diablo fun , whit good editing skills can easy make something like this.

WoW armor sets are all skin tight jumpsuits with a different texture palette thrown in.
Hopefully with a lower player count and newer technology volumetric armor is not too much to ask for.

Open the Textures.mqp with an MQP extractor, look at the file names;
It would seem they left out everything in that file (there is normal, nightmare and hell suffixes), instead of cutting stuff out as they did for the other MQPs (only leaving Act1 stuff in).

yes but if people are claiming its better than WoW armor, it must have some professionalism and i doubt someone invested so much time to make a fake and it isnt just one set, its like 20
Some look nice, a lot look stupid. Im dying to know what their stats are though. Will probably me me drool, and let the silly looking ones make more sense.

They are too flashy, with too many ornaments, doodads, too burdensome -and those shoulders, oh, THOSE SHOULDERS! Do you remember the armor sets in Dragon Age Origin? They were simple , functional, but awesome. These are awesome too, but I am afraid they will poke in their own eye, maybe even with the helmet on. I want my hero to look scary, not like a christmas tree.
