Your battletag is your battlenet nickname if you want, its a new feature for D3 it kinda work like starcraft 2 names but in the future it will work across all games.
If you add someone's battletag in D3, and then if he connects on SC2 you should be able to speak with him.

This is a significant issue because I don't have anywhere near 15 gigs available on my C drive (which it defaults to). I have tried running it as admin and that doesn't work either. I click the button to change directory, and I get the windows 7 loading icon for about half a second and then nothing happens.
Anyone experience this/know of a fix? Are you sure ? Its above the ToF when you must click agree I think
The button is there, but it just doesn't do anything when clicked. I have tried restarting and running the setup as an admin, but it still won't let me change directory.

How does party experience work ? If your party member is killing monsters and you're nearby, how much exp do you get relative to if you did the killing yourself (forgetting bonuses)? Also, how close spatially do you need to be to a party member to be credited with experience for their kills ? In the same area (i.e. both on old tristram road but far apart), or do you need to be close within a set distance in yards ?

There are no exp bonuses. Experience is distributed by level, don't know the exact distribution numbers.

What do you mean by "there are no exp bonuses"?

You don't get an experience bonus for being in a group is what I meant. The mobs still give the same amount whether you're solo or in a group of four.

I think the distance was estimated at like 1.5 - 2 screen max to get awarded experience.
You dont get bonus experience for being in a party. A monster that gives X solo will give X in a party to every member (not divided).
Bonuses like kill streak are personal in a party, you do not get awarded a killstreak if someone else is chaining monsters.

Wait... so if a monster gave 400 xp solo, it would give 400 xp to every person in the group?
That doesn't sound right...

Yes, if a monster was giving 10exp solo. If you kill it with a friend both of you will get 10exp each. If you kill a mob solo in a 4player game you will still get only 10exp.
Experience works like items if you want.
Wasn't it what you were saying too anyway 2 posts ago ?

Not really. I just said there's no exp bonus for being in a group. I was under the impression that 500 would be divided into something like 200 for one person and 300 for another. But apparently that doesn't seem to be the case.

well, mobs scale with the players in the game, does that make more sense now?

Wait, so if I give a friend a guest pass, I can't even play with them online because it doesn't let them party ?

Not sure if answered but can you name your diablo 3 character or is it automatically your battletag?

Battletag is more like how the Account names in D2 used to be when you logged in, just now they are your global identification name in Bnet-2.0-Games.

A monster gets exponentially stronger by every person in the party, so its the same deal.

All right, no exp is not divided, it is given if mob dies in the "experience radius". There are modifier depending on player levels but I don't know them exactly.
On the other hand each monster gets a HP bonus per additional player (bonus depends on difficulty, its 75% in normal, 110% in Inferno) and a damage bonus per additional player (0% normal, 15% inferno).

Europeans get ripped off, nothing new.
42€ with Amazon, so no unless you buy through Blizzard or a CE you don't get ripped off :>
