Overall, this is extremely good news that GOM has finally decided to get rid of those terible maps.

They really gave some nice dynamic to the game that is unique from 4 player maps. As Flash and Jaedong showed in game 2 of WCG 2010, some of the most intense battles occur fighting over that one empty main. I really hope they remake Tau Cross, one of my favorite 3 player maps.

Props to blizzard for making a good game and doing decent balance patches at a good pace but they never have made and never will be able to make maps that are optimal for top level play. Even their big maps has fundamental flaws in them that makes them worse than any recent pro map in sc1. And it's not at all about blizzard being bad or unreasonable it's just that they do not have people that put enough time or effort into understanding the game at the highest levels to make those maps. It's not an easy task. You literally need to live the game if you are to make top notch maps. Korean pro mapmakers do so imo.

It's official Blizzard map, but Gisado is using Terminus RE. Terminus RE has some modification from original one. I sent a mapfile to smileyyy, so he is going to upload this one too.

I hope there is also more dedication to SC2 from their staff to get important patches out on time. @MrPrezbo I think so, but I don't think that Blizzard is going to use them or bring out newer maps until later.

But I know what you meant and I agree, they probably don't, won't, and/or can't hire a group of people just to make maps for them. And David Kim is a balancer not a map maker so heh. Anyways, it's a nice thing to have, right? Another way to bond with the community. Community makes maps, Blizz/Gom uses them, mapmakers feel proud and happy, Blizz/Gom feels grateful and proud of their community.

http://ch.gomtv.com/4555/28119/404045 You can tell how much richer these maps have the potential to make the game. That is one of the more back and forth games I've seen.
