I don't hold any malice towards anyone. You're write, this will only make them more insular as a community, which is kinda sad. While I can believe you didn't expect it to blow up like it did, I think you knew exactly what you were doing when you appealed to your youtube fanbase. I think he was picturing people just go, vote up his book, and his book gets reviewed by editors. I don't think he was picturing people registering and arguing, etc. I think he neglected that a lot of BW people are kinda dumb, and also quite a few people on TL dislike him (and no I am not saying that people who are dumb dislike him, nor that people who dislike him are dumb; there is no connection between the two, and some people may be both, one of the two, or neither) and would try to get him disqualified/fuck up the site. I think he was trying to cynically exploit his fan base to take a shortcut to the top.
Oh please, as if that isn't a common occurrence here? Why, just the other day Chill asked everyone here to do something similar. Granted, it was for a friend and not himself, but it's still more or less the same thing.

No...I don't think that's it. I think Klazart didn't anticipate the negative attention and ill-will he received on the Authonomy forums. That was the trigger that pushed people to mass-join their site, which lead to the toppling of their ranking system. Eh, maybe so. I think it was Klazart's hope that he would simply get a moderate boost from people who support him outside of the Authonomy community. When the Authonomy users started attacking him, supporters of Klazart used that to come to his defense, and to attack back. That's why their forums are such a mess right now, as well as why it seems Klazart regrets his involvement on that site (or so it seems to me). Also, I think Hilton's post on the Authonomy thread is essentially what will happen... I'm not sure which is the "Authonomy thread", could you link/post the post in question? I saw several threads about Klazart which I looked at on their site, but the threads are getting pretty gargantuan and I don't really want to spend so much time personally looking at a bunch of people arguing about Klazart on some writing site. This is the thread I've gone through in its entirety -- link; the quote by user 'Hilton' is on the second to last page, page 68 of 69 right now. The first ~35 pages of the thread are essentially Klazart defending himself on his own against various members of the Authonomy community -- Klazart's arguments are all stated in those pages, I think; the rest of the thread is a flame war between the Authonomy regulars, who have by then realized to some degree that Klazart's supporters are not bots, and actual members from YouTube/TL/other sites who have stepped up to defend Klazart. Also, it should be noted that apparently no moderator action is expected on their site until Monday, so various members allude to waiting, expecting a rollback, etc.

The Stormfront White Nationalist Community is a white nationalist/pride/supremacist,[a] neo-Nazi[b] Internet forum that has been described as the Internet's first major hate site,[c] and the first and most popular racist website.

This entire contest is a freakin popularity contest, so its hilarious that so many people are getting pissed about it. This isn't about whose book is the best. This is about who can get the most votes, more or less. If this is about whose books are the best, why is it in a freakin poll format? btw, I think this book is superior to Klazart's: http://authonomy.com/ViewBook.aspx?bookid=7639 Whoever posted that, you're my hero for the day.

The reader is taken on a harrowing journey inside the very nature of self delusion as it unfolds on the pages. It's soon very clear that pressure, and the shadow rush, can effect all our lives in ways we might never notice without the aid of this eerily prescient tome.

klazart sucks at commentating, i have no idea why people seem to like him.

Is this any different to what Chill persuaded us all to do a week or so ago with the doritos ad?
No, it's merely because it's someone the team liquid community frowns upon.

Not really. Chill didn't pretend he was doing it so we could all see his friend's work.

but that's not what you're saying is pathetic, right? you just seem to find it more amusing as chill's post had seemingly less effect.

What on earth are you talking about? I never said anything was "pathetic." While Klazart may not have wanted what happened to happen, it was a completely foreseeable risk. If you want to mobilize a fan base, you have to be prepared to deal with the fact that some of your fans may be stupid. I'm just saying I don't buy that he was just trying to show his work to a couple of guys from youtube with that video.

Of course he was trying to climb the rankings, that much is pretty obvious from his video. As for my pathetic remark, apologies, for that was merely a word that seemed apt considering the nuance of your reply to my first post. I was merely trying to say that it's not what he has done that has irritated many people, more who has done it. As in the individual who solely expressed his distaste for Klazart's commentaries as opposed to the ethically dubious tactics he employed to attempt to try and climb the rankings. Much love.

Klazart has done so much for the commentary scene, not to mention getting myself into starcraft (not like there's a general gain on your part for that, but I enjoy it), that I was glad to support his book when he asked to.
Though, indeed he should have reconsidered this idea, as the chaos he raised and inevitable subsequent awareness may even lead to his disqualification. (I'm saying that without actually knowing anything about the site's policies)
And the forum drama is just too funny
(oh, and I read it, yes.)

I'm pretty sure he's indian and I can understand people not liking his voice. But you have to envy his love for the game, the way he's commentating with so much heart is just amazing.
